情爱汶莱

飞机即将降落，内心一阵喜悦，也带有一些紧张。

一别汶莱，已有五年了，相信它不会有很多的改变。心中的喜悦是因为可以第三次旧地重游，和一群老朋友再相会；紧张则是因为在这时刻，我终于实现了十八年前对太太的许诺，带她到汶莱及姆鲁一游。

十八年，不是很短的日子。拿起旧照片一看，往事不堪回首，青春已不再了！

一九九三年七月三日，我参加了汶莱华文教友协会在姆鲁举办的避静，除了灵修上得益不浅外，也被它那美丽的自然景色，特别是非常壮观的几个山洞，深深的吸引了。回家后，就对太太说要与她再到来姆鲁及去汶莱一游。（汶莱去姆鲁大约需要三个小时的车程及半个小时的飞机航程）

领取了行李之后，踏着轻松的步伐，走出了入境厅，见到志贤，坤章，永平及子云在等待了。一时灯光闪闪，志贤及永平的两架专业相机，把我和太太抵达汶莱的第一时刻起，载入了我们生活的美丽回忆中。

我领受了非常高规格的接待，这些朋友都百忙中抽空，亲自来接机，我和太太非常的感激不已。旁人见到摄影机不停的拍摄，以为是大人物到来呢。我们不是大人物，却受到大人物般的款待。

我认识这四位朋友，除了永平较迟之外，其他三位已经超过二十年了。这是马新汶台圣母军交流会所带来的恩惠。每年一度的圣母军交流会（明年是第二十届，在马六甲举行），是军友们一个很好的交流，认识及交换经验的平台。因为交流会，我认识了汶莱及许多其他地区的军友，也到过好多地方，体验了各地的风土人情，美丽的景观及不同的食物，更重要的是领会到了普世教会至圣，至公及合一的层面。我非常荣幸及感恩，因为我是一名圣母军！

汶莱之旅，可说是因为买到较廉宜的马航机票，但我更愿意说这是天主巧妙的安排。我在十月玫瑰月来到汶莱，有机会参加了这里每晚举行的家庭玫瑰经。很高兴的能够参加四天，四个家庭的诵念玫瑰经，让我体验到这里的信众，对圣母的恭敬及玫瑰经的热爱，兄弟姐妹间的包容，相敬及相爱之情，当然还有教友亲身烹调的美食！

在还没启程之前，从面子书上，看到汶莱华文教友的家庭玫瑰经已经开跑了，也见到他们在玫瑰经过后的百乐聚餐（potluck）的情景，尤其是教友们各自准备的食物，深深的吸引了我。

当我处身置地的参加了家庭玫瑰经之后，照片上令我垂延的食物，如白斩鸡，芝士蛋糕，一一摆在桌上了。。。。原来我早已在面子书上先订了下来，啊，真有口福呀！

汶莱天主教会是最『最上网』及『最上报』的教会，应该当之无愧。这里的沈主教，早已是面子书里的一位活跃会员。汶莱华文教务及活动，藉着多位信众快速上载到面子书上，很快的就传遍世界，网上【盼】季刊，更是大受欢迎。堂区的活动，也常常的出现在当地的报纸上，这是善用新媒体的一个例子。

这趟汶莱行，（17-24/10/2011）除了与网上神交已久的几位面子书朋友见面外，如林明光与爱娜夫妇，也加增了好多位新朋友。

在汶莱的第三天的早上五点半，由杨永平驾车，三人一同往美里出发，开始了我们三天两夜的姆鲁行。

早上车辆稀少，我们只用了两个小时，就到了边境，过关口，进入了美里。

“在外有朋友真好！”，这句话是我常说的。在汶莱及美里也不例外。永平联络上了他在汶莱的朋友杨先生及查尔斯，大家在机场附近共进早餐。过后，永平的车就交由查尔斯保管几天，我们就乘搭九时半的班级，到姆鲁去了。

半小时的航程，飞机就降落在群山环抱的姆鲁山国家公园（Gunung Mulu National Park）机场，然后进住了皇家姆鲁渡假村。（Royal Mulu Resort）

十八年前这渡假村还不存在。当时我们下机后，乘坐小船，进住政府开设的渡假屋（Rest house）。现在该渡假屋已经荒置，而由更多，更新的高脚渡假屋取代。

到姆鲁旅游，要步行很多路途。第一天的行程，是参观狼洞和鹿洞，来回的行程大约九公里。不过，走在平坦的木板铺架的“板路”，边走边观赏热带雨林，是一个很好的享受。

我非常赞赏当地的自然保护工作。十八年后，河流还是那么清澈，山洞的保护措施做得非常的好。姆鲁国家公园是联合国教科文组织（UNESCO）宣认的世界遗产地点，是天主赐给人类的礼物，希望能够继续的获得保护。

除了以上两个洞外，还有风洞及清水洞，开放让游客参观。鹿洞有全世界最宽敞的通道，也是观赏上百万只蝙蝠，在傍晚时出洞觅食奇景的地方；而清水洞，则是世界最大（体积）的山洞。还有一个砂劳越内室（Sarawak Chamber），商未开放给公众。它可以停放70架波音747型飞机！

很遗憾的，我没有时间去参观另一大自然美丽景观 - 尼亚石林，希望下次有机会一游。尼亚石林可以从美里出发，早出晚归一日游。

完成了姆鲁游之后，带着美丽的记忆，再次的回到汶莱的斯市。

除了步行游览了斯市的街景，也乘搭了水上德士，漫游著名的水上村及红树林。小船飞驰在平静的汶莱河上，烈日当空，观赏著两岸的红树林，确是另一番风味，但我也因此而被列阳晒得焦黑。但令我们意想不到的，只需十分钟的船程，在非常靠近人烟的红树林里（也靠近苏丹的皇宫），竟然可以看到婆罗洲独有的长鼻猴，而且是一群的！

这是一个令人难忘的假期，太太和我都会永远铭记这美好的回忆。感谢汶莱的朋友们，您把我们这段生命添上更美丽的色彩，多加了好多的温馨。

我是带着两种健康状况完成此行。在二月尾，我动了膝盖关节手术后，还没有真正的考验过这人工部件的操作性能。姆鲁行确实是一个很大的考验，步行及爬登洞穴，把它推到了极限，证明了它的可靠及安全性。

在启程前两天，左眼突然出现了状况，被发现眼球内部出血，紧急做了镭射手术。医生说已被治疗了，可以旅行，但不可跳动。怀着战战兢兢的心情，我们如期的出发了。

依靠主，信赖主，一切都顺利的完成了。上面提到的两件事，使我感触良多。人生无常，生活会变动，很多事情要发生，就会发生，所以要珍惜每一天，活出每一天。过去的不能追回，但机会来了，不要错过；应该做的，就得去做，眼睛能看到的，都要珍惜，脚步能到的，就要举步前进。

十八年前，十八年后，使我看到了岁月的沧桑，但也领悟了生命的丰富。杨永平比我年纪稍长些，但仍然热爱生活；我和志贤，脸上都增添了寒暑的痕迹，还是快乐的勇往直前；坤章与子云，从青年到中年，他们长大了……，我们的友情，仍然是那么多坚固。认识了很多汶莱的朋友，他们的共融，他们的热情，他们生活的喜乐，对天主的忠诚，使我永志不忘。

生命短暂，但天主却是永恒。他爱我吗，他就是我们的生命，我们的力量。汶莱之旅，虽然短暂，但却是记忆深刻，将进入我们生命的永恒。

『桃花潭水深千尺，不及汪伦送我情』，汶莱财富千万亿，不及兄弟（姐妹）对我情！

世界病人日

今天 11/2/2012 是路德圣母的主保日，纪念圣母在1858年，2月11日，在法国的一个叫路德的地方开始显现给一位名叫伯纳德的女孩。

今天也是我们天主教会的世界病人日。这是已故教宗若望保禄二世在1992年的五月十三日宣布的。

好多朝圣者在路德获得病痛的治愈。据说很多人坐在轮椅上，或手持拐杖到路德朝圣，获得完全的治愈，可以步行离开，而把轮椅及拐杖留下。

我和太太参加今晚的日落弥撒。弥撒过后，神父特地祝福了所有的病患者，及55岁以上的教友，并为大家傅油。（在额头，胸口及双手傅上圣油），然后送上鲜花。

我和太太都接受了特别的祝福及傅油，还有鲜花。

Women tales 妇人的故事

Tales of 3 ladies.

Attended a Taichi member's house buffet dinner.

Interestingly picked up their stories.

Member 1 - She is 80 years old... ( surprise). She has double Total Knee Replacement twice in a span of 25 years. (Age of our Taichi group)

She is healthy and active.

Member 2 - She is going to be a expectant great-grandmother soon. Her eldest grandson, 25, is getting married.

And her house was almost broken into if not for her swift return after alerted by the alarm. Two robbers were trying to break her glass door. A lucky escape for her too because the robbers were reluctant to retreat upon her return, they tried to attack her car instead.

The Police questioned her need to report since suffered no losses.

Member 3 - She is a victim of a house-breaking. Her children lost laptops, cash and hand-phones. Police arrived at the scene to investigate 4 hours after reporting.

Actually Member 4 (left for other table) was also a victim of a house-breaking.

The conversation was centered on the house-breaking and robbery. While my regular hairdresser Mary was robbed before Chinese New Year, 5 more other saloons were also being robbed about the same time.....

Our table consisted members from 7 households, 3 members have personal experience of house-breaking and robbery; the rest, including us, have many friends and relatives either being robbed or house burglarized.

There are at least six more other members of our Taichi group were direct victims of house-breaking and robbery.

The issues are: "we are not safe", "our Police force is not performing".

As reported in the news, a group of women were arrested gambling during Chinese New Year. While walking out of the Police station after posting bails, they said right in front of the Policemen at the station:

" Only good in catching gamblers, never see them catch thieves and robbers..."

This is One (aspect of ) Malaysia Prime Minister Najib does not mention at all!!

三个妇人的故事。

参加了一位太极团员在家举办的自由餐，很有趣的听到了她们的故事。

会员1 - 她80岁了，令我们都惊奇。她在认识我们的25年里，共动了两次『双膝盖关节换置』手术。（我们太极班已经25岁了）。

她很健康，也很活跃，每天都来打太极，热爱生活。

会员2 - 她很高兴的告诉我们，她在不久将升级为曾祖母了，因为她25岁的长孙将要结婚了。

她是入屋行窃的受害者。不久前，她的家被窃贼看中，欲撬开玻璃门进入偷窃。警报系统警示她，幸亏及时赶回家，识破窃贼行动。不过她也幸运的逃过一劫，因为窃贼见到她后，还想攻击她，幸有朋友在场，窃贼知难而退。

警察质问她报案的需要，因为她没有受到损失。

会员 3 - 她是受害者。窃贼进入她家，偷了孩子的电脑，手机及现款，幸亏没有伤害到在楼上睡觉的孙子。

警察在报案后四个小时，才姗姗来迟的到来调查。

其实还有会员4，她也是入屋偷窃的受害者。她过了另一桌。

谈话的内容都是有关偷窃及抢劫。我常光顾的美发室老板娘Mary在新年前被打枪的同时，另有5间美发室被抢。

同桌的来自七个家庭，三个是直接的偷窃受害者，其他（包括我们）都有许多亲戚或朋友，不是屋子入贼，就是被抢劫过。

太极班至少还有六位其他成员都有住家被爆窃及打枪的亲身体验。

课题是：“我们不安全”；“警察没有尽职”。

正如一则新闻报道提到，一群妇女因赌博被警察逮捕，在保释后，对警局内的警员说：

“ 抓赌博顶瓜瓜，抓劫匪是差差。。”

这是现实的写照。

这是首相纳吉在一个马来西亚中，从没提过的另一面。

Kajang Spring Festival 加影春晚

Spring Festival (Chinese New Year) is one of the community celebrations of the Church of the Holy Family, Kajang.

2012 The Year of the Dragon new year celebrations was held on Sunday (5-2-2012) at the parish hall with a 70-tables dinner and exciting stage performances.

Performances included: Drumming， youth and children dances, magic show, singing, Wushu (Kong Fu), Indian cultural dance...

Besides parishioners of Holy Family, many also came from KL, Petaling Jaya, Kelang, Seremban, Mantin areas. We were also happy to see the presence of invited guests from New Era College and Fo Guang Shan (Dong Zhen Temple).

The event was organised by the Holy Family Chinese Language Apostolate, and co-sponsored by Archdiocesan Chinese Language Apostolate Commission (ACLAC).

The theme of the celebrations is : Blessed & Togetherness.

春节，是加影圣家堂每年都庆祝的团体活动之一。

今年2012龙年的庆祝，除了是由加影圣家堂华文教务促进会主办，还得到吉隆坡总教区华文促进会联合协办，是总教区华人新年大团拜的主要活动。

这项大团拜晚宴，于星期天，5-2-2012 七时正，假加影圣家礼堂举行。除了加影本堂的教友，也吸引了来自吉隆坡，八打灵，巴生，文丁及芙蓉的教友出席参加，总共宴开七十席。当晚出席者，还有来自加影新纪元及佛光山的代表贵宾，各堂区的主要领导人，总教区促进会职委等，场面非常的热闹。

除了美味的食物，还有精彩的表演。晚会的精彩度，不会比中国中央电视台的『春晚』逊色。

晚会的节目有击鼓，歌唱，青年及儿童舞蹈，魔术表演，武术表演，印度舞蹈及幸运抽奖等，只闻掌声连绵不断。

圣家堂主任赫佐治神父更展现了他的天才，除了表演舞蹈，还一口气的以三种语言（华，巫，英），唱出三首动听的歌曲。他的『三月里的小雨』更获得听众热烈的掌声回响。（请点击看录影）

晚会在热闹的气氛中结束，各参加者（包括非华人兄弟姐妹），都体验到晚会的主题：【蒙主祝福，群集一堂】。

农历新年的庆祝，也随着元宵节后结束，祈愿仁慈的天主，在这大喜的新年伊始，祝福我们世界和平，国家安泰；各种族，不同宗教及文化的人们，和谐共融，平安幸福，年年太平年。阿门。

After Mass, he dropped by my house for new year visit.

I brought him along to attend my neighbour's daughter wedding lunch.

He seemed to enjoy Malay food very much.

Lik Chun 立春

According to China Meteological department, the actual date and time of Spring commences on 4/2/2012 16:22 hour. It is called "Li Chun" (立春... roughly translate as 'The mark of Spring' )

"Li Chun" is same syllable as " standing upright of egg " in Cantonese ( Li - Stand upright; Chun - egg )

Many Chinese believed eggs can stand vertically on day of Li Chun.

One of them is Jane Ng, a Yoga instructor. She and family members did it with 8 pieces of eggs.

根据中国天文台的计算，正式『立春』的日期是 4/2/2012 16：22 时。

立春在广东话的意思是：立正鸡蛋（春）。

很多人相信在这天，鸡蛋可以直立。相信的其中一人就是 Jane Ng 小姐，她是一位瑜伽老师。

New year visit

We went last night for a new year visit, and .... cannot do without .... dinner !!!!

Kelang is such a sprawling town (city) ... without GPS, you will get lost. But with GPS, got lost also, because GPS - Guna Pun Sesat juga (use it also get lost ). That was what happed to us.

将近两年没见到 Cheng 及Loh 夫妇了。。。

昨晚我们到巴生探访他们，当然一定是共进晚餐了！

巴生已经成为一个大市镇（或城市），假如没有GPS （卫星导航），很容易迷路。但是，有GPS 还是迷路，因为GPS 就是如马来文所说：Guna Pun Sesat （用了也迷路）。昨晚就是如此。

Cultural rites in liturgical practice

My Chinese New Year Mass pictures uploaded to Facebook (23/1/2012) has attracted some attention. Many "shared" picture (s) with their friends and started lively discussions and arguments.

Through the help of Amanda of Penang, I reprint below an article written by Fr. Michael Cheah, which was published in Penang Diocese News (Mar-Apr 2000), for better understanding of Chinese cultural rites. (Also a news report on Tamil "Ponggal" festival below)

From the discussions, I noted many Chinese have no knowledge of how Catholics celebrate Mass, how Chinese celebrate new year and what are Chinese tradition and cultural practices. Some even disowned their Chinese root or just ignorance.... Some Christians even called this a "cult".... interesting!

And of course, some are simply irresponsible "shit-stirrers".

This article is solely for Catholic community only.

CHINESE RITES IN LITURGICAL PRACTICE

Introduction
In a multi-racial and multi-religious country like Malaysia, there always seems to be a problem in distinguishing between that which is customary or cultural and that which is religious. Our religious practices, customs and cultures have crossed paths quite often in our daily lives. This is an attempt to lay to rest certain ambiguities or doubts concerning Chinese cultural practices during the Chinese Lunar New Year.

1. Joss-sticks
Joss sticks are actually incense made in the traditional Chinese style. Joss sticks by themselves are not ‘religious’ in any way. It is incense made into the form of a stick, to be burnt so as to give out a fragrant smell that is conducive for both worship and offering. In the West, incense has always been in the form of powdered or ‘pounded-form’. This powdered incense is then put onto hot charcoal and consequently, the smoke-form of incense is produced. Likewise, the Chinese or Oriental form is the compacting of the powdered incense into a paste and then ‘wrapped’ round a stick; the joss-stick is then lit or burnt to give off the fragrance. There are also other forms of incense, for example, the spiral forms that are similar to the mosquito coil. The Chinese description of incense is “sweet-smelling” or heong and it can come in many forms. The East always has the rich tradition (including the Eastern Churches) of using incense in worship.

2. HONOURNING OF ANCESTORS
This is certainly NOT the worshipping of ancestors. The Rite of Honouring ancestors is deeply ingrained in the lives of the Chinese as it is the continuation of the virtue of Filial Piety. There are few occasions whereby the Chinese people remember and give respect to their ancestors. This recalling is actualized in rituals, especially during special and auspicious days and in these special rites, offerings and respect are given to departed ancestors. We can conclude that the act of offering food and other relevant things in the rite of the honouring ancestors is similar to our Roman Catholic practice of remembering our beloved departed brothers and sisters and in the offering of flowers and the burning of candles for our dearly departed ones.

3. OFFERING OF FOOD AND CAKES
The offering of food and cakes (New Year cakes) made to ancestors is done not so much for them to eat or consume them. It is done with the intention of recalling the happy times that both the living and the deceased shared together, when the ancestors were still alive. Chinese tradition places important emphases on meals; hence, whenever food is ‘offered’ to ancestors or at graves (Feast of Ching Ming), the intention is to provide an occasion to have a ‘meal ‘ together with the deceased. This is a recalling of the many meals which have been shared with those who have since passed away. The food is usually taken back for consumption in the house. Thus, the food is indeed not offered to idols or spirit.

4. OFFERING OF FRUITS
The offering of fruits is also based on the same principle of recalling good times with those who have passed away. There is also the element of linguistic harmony in relation to the names of the fruits offered, especially in the Cantonese dialect. For example, the mandarin oranges (Kum) means gold, pineapple (wong li) denotes the coming of prosperity, orange lime (kat) means good luck, sugar cane (kam chear) denotes good family or fertility, pomeloes (por luk) means wholeness of prosperity. Fruits do not carry any religious significance as well.

5. BURNING OF RED CANDLES
The burning of candles is also an ancient practice of the Chinese. However, the preferred colour chosen by the Chinese is red which symbolizes joy, goodness and prosperity. The colour of the candles does not signify anything religious. It is just the culture of the Chinese that candles should not be white as this colour symbolizes death or misfortune.

6. IMAGES/ SYMBOLS OF THE DRAGON
The dragon is a mythological animal in Chinese culture. No doubt it appeared in Buddhist writings, it is deemed as a creature which is created by God and is subjected to Him. There is also the fact that human beings are to live in harmony with nature and all God-created animals. There is no such thing as the humans worshipping any created thing, including any animal at all. Hence images or symbols of the dragon are for decorations only.

7. BURNING OF JOSS-STICKS DURING MASS
As mentioned above, the burning of joss-sticks is similar to the burning of incense during the celebration of the Mass. The difference is in the form of incense being used; the Western form is in powdered form and needs charcoal amber in a thurifer to dispense, which the Eastern form is just the lighting of the joss-sticks and placing them in an urn. The advantage of the Chinese joss-sticks is that a continuous fragrance will be emitted as they burn throughout the celebration of the Mass.

8. THE HITTING OF GONG OR A ROUND METAL BOWL
In the practice of the Roman Catholic Church, at certain points of the Eucharistic celebration, the altar-servers will ring a bell. The Chinese have their way of indicating the special moments within the celebration of the Mass. Instead of ringing the small bells, they hit gong or metal ‘bowl-like’ gongs with the same pious reasons. Hence the form of indicating the certain important moments of the Eucharistic celebration can he both varied and cultural. The usage of certain instruments within the celebration of the Mass can never be “irreligious”.

Below is a news article on Indian Ponggal festival celebrated at the Immaculate Conception Church, Pulau Tikus, Penang and reported by The New Straits Times on 26-1-2012.

GEORGE TOWN: About 400 parishioners of all races, dressed in traditional and modern attire, celebrated the Tamil harvest festival of Ponggal at the Church of the Immaculate Conception in Pulau Tikus recently.

Although the celebration was originally a festival in which farmers sought a bountiful harvest in Tamilnadu, India, it is now widely regarded as one of the most important dates in the Tamil calendar. The church was decorated with stalks of sugar cane, which signify sweetness and happiness.

The highlight of the celebrations is when boiling rice mixed with milk and other ingredients, inside a new earthenware pot, boils over or "ponggal"

Parish priest, Fr Michael Cheah, said: "Ponggal is a cultural festival. The church has allowed the celebrations to be part of the church activities for many years.

"The Roman Catholic Church encourages the retention of eastern culture and traditions, like the Chinese New Year celebrations within the church as part of its programme."

A lion dance troupe from Yu Hua Secondary School of Kajang was making preparation to perform in front of a goldsmith shop.

Lately, Malaysia Prime Minister Najib has been singing this tune over and over again, just to re-assure his support to Rosmah, his controversial wife.

The latest being her lavish shopping spree in Perth, Australia. A columnist in Sydney Morning Herald revealed that Rosmah, with Najib in tow on holiday in Perth, spent Au$100,000 at a local boutique.

Rosmah had recently been under fire for allegedly purchasing a diamond ring worth RM24 million, which she has vehemently denied, and for owning several Hermes handbags worth thousands of ringgit including a US$200,000 crocodile skin handbag.

Rosmah caught national limelight when she was implicated in the murder case of Mongolian woman Altantuya in 2006 by famous blogger Raja Petra Bin Raja Kamaruddin. In a statutory declaration, he declared that Rosmah was present at the scene of crime with 2 other persons. Najib was then the Deputy Prime Minister.

The ghost of Altantuya still until today haunts Najib and Rosmah, and will continue to be one of the hot topics in the coming 13th general election.

这是马来西亚首相纳吉最近常常哼的一首英文歌曲，以表示对她那常常引起争议的太太罗斯玛的支持吧。

最新的一个课题来自澳洲悉尼的一家报纸『悉尼早晨先锋报』，一位专栏作者报导了罗斯玛在丈夫纳吉的陪同下，在澳洲柏斯度假时，到一间服装店花了十万澳元购买服装。这不是她引起哗然的第一次。

罗斯玛最近受到来自各方，包括反对党的抨击，传闻花了马币二千四百万元买了一颗钻戒，及被拍摄到携带一个名牌（Hermes），价值二十万美元的手提袋。

罗斯玛在2006年，因为蒙古女郎阿旦都也的谋杀案而引人注意。他被一位著名博客拉惹柏特拉于一项『法定宣誓书』里，指名道姓的指她与另外两个人，出现在阿旦都也被杀现场里。当时纳吉官拜为副首相。

阿旦都也的鬼影，直到今天，还笼罩着纳吉与罗斯玛，也将继续的在将来临的第十三届全国大选中，成为热门的课题之一。

We decided to go out to do some visiting.

For more than a decade, we were not able to visit the Lim family in Suntex during the Chinese New Year because of our "balik kampong" (going home) to Johor Baru.

The Lim sisters were surprised and happy to welcome us, we even got an Ang Pao (red packet) from one of them!

Third day of the new year.

The new year weather is VERY hot! (35 degree C)

We went out to KL to visit Pauline's elder sister .... and have lunch there.

So on the first day of the New Year, we went to church first thing in the morning to offer thanksgiving and prayer of blessings.

New Year Mass 新年感恩弥撒

Many non- Christian friends were surprised to learn that I do celebrate Chinese Lunar New Year too.

They thought Christmas is my "new year" !

As a Chinese Catholic, I celebrate Christmas (Birthday of Jesus Christ), Jan 1 (the first day of the universal Gregorian calender year) and first day of month as the CHINESE NEW YEAR DAY or Spring Festival of my Chinese tradition.

Neither my Chinese root obstructs me to live out my faith nor my Christian faith erodes my Chinese characteristic or identity.

The first thing to do on the first day of the New Year is to attend New Year Thanksgiving Mass at the church .... like most of the Chinese going to temples offering prayers and thanksgiving to the Almighty.

I thanked God for the blessings showered upon my family for the past year, and prayed for continued guidance, protection and blessing in the Year of the Dragon.

他们以为『圣诞节』就是新年。

作为一名华人天主教徒，除了庆祝圣诞节之外，我也欢迎公历新年（元旦），当然更隆重的庆祝我们华人的传统农历新年，也叫春节。

华人的根，不会阻碍我活出一名基督徒的生活，同样的，基督的信仰，不会改变我作为一名华人的身份及传统。

农历新年的头一天，我及家人所要做的第一件事是到教堂参加新年感恩弥撒。。。。就如好多其他的华人般，到神庙去膜拜及感谢那位大能的神。

我感谢仁慈的天主，在过去一年里，给我家庭的各种恩赐，也祈求他在新的一年里，继续的指引，保护及降福我们。

Reunion dinner 团圆饭

We have our own family reunion dinner in Kajang. Thanks to "haopengyou" (good friend), we have "Chan Siew Fong home-cooked Punchoy" for dinner .... yummy yum and simply wonderful !!

(Punchoy literally means dish in a big basin or container, a popular dish originated from Hong Kong villages. Ingredients consist of pork, duck, chicken, prawn, fish ball, mushroom, abalone, fish maw, scallop, sea cucumber, vegetables and many others, laid in layers)

Food ... again? not for me.

Visited old friend at the nursing home. Brought her favourite roast pork and Chinese sausages. She enjoyed the food very much.

Then visited Fr. Henriot at the Little Sister of the Poor home at Cheras.

Fr. Henriot has recovered quite well from the recent stroke. He was on wheelchair but alert. He is able to move both hands and legs, standing up with assistance, and not able to speak yet.

He has already taken his lunch. So we brought him his favourite spiritual food - The Rosary. We recited Rosary together in his room .... he dozed off ... rest in the peace of the Lord! (pic bottom)

又是见到食物？不是我吃的！

今天去疗养院探望了老朋友，带了她的最爱 - 烧肉和香肠。她喜欢极了，吃了好多。

过后我们去吉隆坡蕉赖安贫修会的养老院探望夏理和神父。

他两个月前中风，复原的还相当的快。见到他坐在轮椅上，但精神很好。他的双手及双脚都能够活动，可以在有人扶持下，站起来。他可以发一些声音，但还不能讲话。

他已经用了午餐，我们带来了他最爱的精神粮食 - 玫瑰经。我们一同到他房间共诵玫瑰经时，他也静静的睡了。。。在主的平安内休息。

On Oct 31, 2008, Razak Baginda, a close associate of the then Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister Najib, was acquitted of abetting the murder of Mongolian woman Altantuya in a controversial high court decision. Razak Baginda flew to London within days of walking out of the court room, with millions dollars of ill-gotten commission from defense contracts, lives happily ever after .... until the Final Judgment Day !

People are forced to stoop to buy train tickets in China. It was strongly criticized.
在中国，人民被迫折腰购买车票，当局受到大力的谴责.

Brought a young man in Puchong to see a priest regarding his intended marriage at the end of the year.

Catholic must register with the priest of intended marriage one year in advance.

He is not fervent but attend Sunday Mass may be once a month. He has a few issues needed to be clarified, one of them is a unpleasant encounter with a priest more than a month ago regarding wedding in the church.

When he mentioned "marriage" to the parish clerk, the reply was:

"First you must have had attended marriage preparation course...."

"... I need to see the priest for advise first..."

The clerk highlighted: " you must make appointment ... the priest will tell you when to come .... Tuesday to Friday, office hours only " . She was holding an appointment book, very business-like and stern face. Don't pray pray ....heh heh heh ( italic wording added by me)

"subject matter: marriage ...or personal ....?"

The young man was quite at a loss ...

If she could have just said: " not to inconvenient yourself, it is advisable to make an appointment with the priest...". ... we would have felt better.

We know priests are busy people, parishioners are busy too ....but since in the vicinity, no harm to try mah...!

All the while, we were shouting at each other. We were not arguing but hard of hearing. We were seperated by a piece of glass and speaking through an tray-like opening, like the old bank teller counter，without voice holes above. The guest has to stoop down to shout at the "opening ".....

In fact I have requested : Let us inside to talk ... but understood its security implication, I did not pursue further and remained stooping ....

My young friend is awaiting for the priest to call ... when? God knows.... and being genuine, he will take a day off from his 27 hour-a-day construction company job (he said so) to attend this 30 minutes meeting .....

Good Catholics are not supposed to complain .....

今天带了一位住蒲种的年青教友去见神父，要谈谈他计划于年尾的婚事。

天主教徒预定要结婚，必须在一年前，向神父登记。

他不算是一位很虔诚的教徒，但每个月都尽量参加弥撒一次。他本身有数项事情要先释疑，其中一项是在个多月前，询问在教堂结婚的事，与一位神父的不愉快接触。

当他向办公室书记提出见神父关于结婚事宜，那位书记马上就说：

“ 你应当先参加了婚前辅导课程。。。”

“。。。但我想要先见神父，请示他的指导。。”

书记特地提醒：“见神父必须先预约。。。然后等神父答复。。。只能够在星期二至星期五。。。办公时间。。。” 她手上捧着一本预约部，一板正经的。。。。Don't pray pray, heh heh heh ..(这是我自己加上的英文形容词）

“我该写要见神父的原因是。。。结婚。。私事？!"

那个年轻人一脸茫然，不知如何答复。。。（见神父也有设限事项！？！）

假如那位书记说：“ 。。。为了避免你的不方便，我建议你先与神父约定。。。” 这听了也比较舒服。

我们都知道神父是很忙的，教友也是为工作忙，但既然在附近，试试也无妨。。。

整个交谈过程中，都是大声在喊的。不是在争吵，而是听不到！双方是被一块玻璃隔开，只能够通过一个“盘口”来交谈。这和以前旧式的银行柜台一样的设计，但没有说话的小洞口。我们都得折腰弯身的“喊话”。。。。

其实我有提出，好歹也让我们进去谈谈。。。但知道这是保安的一种措施，就作罢了，还是折腰算了。

这位年轻的朋友，正等待着神父的回电，什么时候？只有天知道。。。但因为是真诚的要在教堂结婚，他得从每天27小时的建筑公司差事里（他说的），拿一天的假期来赴这三十分钟的约会。

。。。。唔。唔。唔。天主教徒不应该埋怨！

出乎意料 Surprise

出乎意料的判决！

吉隆坡高等法庭今天对安华鸡奸年轻助理的指控，作出无罪的判决。

这宗案件，受到了国际媒体的关注，如CNN, BBC 及 Al Jazeera, 都作出头条新闻及广泛的报导。

这是出乎控方及辩方的意料之外。安华本身已经做好了准备，面对罪名成立的可能，因为正如大部分人民一样，对司法公正缺乏信心。

而很明显的，这宗案件，安华以同样的罪名第二次被提控，很明显的是政治扼杀，执政党巫统希望以不道德之罪，结束安华的政治生涯，所以，罪名成立该是控方所要的。

很快的，首相纳吉，一些内阁部长及执政联盟的伙伴，都异口同声的说，此案件的判决，证明了我国的司法透明及独立。

只有巫统和它的执政联盟党伙伴才相信他们的巧言。

很明显的，纳吉扼杀安华的行动，因着环境的改变，以将自己逼进了墙角，判处安华无罪，是最无奈的选择。

第二次以同样的肛交罪名提控安华，本来就是不应该发生的事情。

安华被判无罪后，已经清洗了他个人的道德污点，但却使到他不能成为一名烈士。。。。

马来西亚的政治将重新洗牌，在比较势均力敌的环境中，开始了新一轮的博弈。

A surprising verdict !

Anwar Ibrahim was acquitted this morning by Kuala Lumpur High Court judge of sodomising his former young political aide.

It gained global attention ... it was reported widely as headline news by international cable news such as CNN, BBC and Al Jazeera.

Prime Minister Najib, a few of his cabinet ministers, ruling coalition leaders, as expected, trumpeted the verdict as a show of transparency and independence of the Malaysian Judiciary.

Only UMNO members and its ruling coalition cohorts believed in such rhetoric.

Apparently, Najib has brought himself into a tight corner that an acquittal is the only viable choice in view of the current situation ....

The charge should not have been brought against Anwar, for the second time, in the first place.

Being vindicated of his sodomy case, Anwar did not achieve martyr status ......

A new political game is starting on a more level field ....

A sudden craving for Pulasan ...

Called up Andrew, and went down to The Farm today with Aiya God daughter Anna Ailing Ying family, Alice and Alisa Yuen in tow....

A couple came uninvited and uninformed to the Farm for bridal photo shoots. Andrew graciously gave the intruders the permission to take some shots around the orchards and ponds.

突然间想到吃普罗扇，一种属于红毛丹类的水果。

联络的Andrew, 今天早上到了庄园 The Farm 去采摘，随行的还有哎呀乾女婿家庭，诗巫的爱丽丝及阮爱丽沙。

I went for my haircut at my usual saloon this afternoon. .

Chinese New year (Spring Festival) is just round the corner (23-1-2012), so everyone must have a haircut in order to have a good "head start". Moreover, long and unkempt hair is no good sign for new year.

But more importantly, price of haircut would be doubled two weeks before the new year.... it is not cut hair but "cut throat".

Mary's saloon is already well decorated for the festival.

"You don't usually come for haircut on Sunday?"

"No, why?" (she knows very well I don't come on Sunday)

" I decided to close on Sundays ....... it is not safe, I was robbed few Sundays ago...!"

Mary's saloon closes on Wednesdays and previously, Sundays are business days.

"ahh..!!"

She told me 3 men came in under the pretax of haircut, one of them is an elderly in late fifties. They tied her and her daughter (no other customers then) and robbed them of RM360.00 cash. Luckily they were not harm.

The 7-11 convenient store few doors a way was robbed 6 times since opening 2 years ago. With the latest robbery, all shops owner decided to close on Sundays. (Being lesser crowd)

In the newspaper today, a minister's wife ( believed to be wife of Rais Yatim, Minister of Information, Communication and Culture ) was robbed of her hand bag while stopping her car at a traffic light junction in Ampang, Kuala Lumpur.

Are we safe? I am not feeling safe, aren' t you?

今天下午，我去了理发。

农历新年即将来临，所以每个人都会去理发，期望新年有个好“开头”。再说，长发及没修理的头发，在新年里是个不好的“意头”。

但更重要的是，理发店及发廊，在新年前的两个星期，会把价钱提高一倍，那时，不是理发，而是砍头。

玛莉的发廊已经披上了新年的装饰。

"。。通常你都不会在星期天理发店？。。“

“不会。为什么？” 奇怪，她应该知道我没有在星期天来理发的。

“星期天我没有营业了。。。早两个星期天，我被打抢了。。。”

“啊。。。。”

根据玛莉说，三位华人走进她的发廊，其中一位是五十多的老人，以理发为藉口，进来打枪。他们把她和女儿绑起来（当时没有其他顾客），抢了她们马币三百六十零吉的现款。幸亏他们感到满足，没有伤害她们。

隔邻的 7-11 便利店，开张不到两年，已经被抢了六次。随着这一次的打枪，邻近代商家一致决定，星期天不要营业。（星期天人潮较少）

在今天的报纸里，报导了一位部长夫人（相信是新闻，通讯及文化部长赖斯亚丁的太太），在吉隆坡安邦一条公路的交通灯前停车时，被匪徒击破车镜，抢了手袋。

我们这里安全码？我觉得不安全，你呢？

在前一天的报纸报道，我国警察总长骄傲的宣布，全国的犯罪率下降百分之十，而警察部队也成功的依照国家指标成绩地区内，把街头罪案降低了百分之四十。你相信吗？

我非常黑心的想到，那个匪徒应该把部长夫人的手，刺上两刀，好宣扬一下：“我们的街道不安全！”

Just two weeks ago, I shared with my wife of my thoughts ... how is this guy doing .... how many kids and how old are they now ....

Not seeing him for more about 13 years ... and suddenly, a call came 3 days before Christmas:" I am coming over with my family for a holiday ..."

On 28-12-2011 (Wednesday), we finally met up... and he has not changed much except his children are bigger now. The last time we saw him in Sibu was during his wife's confinement after delivering their first child ... and she is 14 years old now.

Jackie Ting, his wife, 3 children and mother in law, were on holiday in Kuala Lumpur. His brothre in law John and wife Winnie, whom we have not met before, brought them to Genting and Malaka ... and to my house.

Another surprise! Winnie is the doctor my wife consulted two weeks ago in Serdang Hospital Orthopedic department ..!! My wife said: " I recognised you ..."

All praise and thanks to Allah Almighty!!

大约在两个星期前，我和太太分享了我的一些心思。。。这小傢伙不知现在怎样了？不知有多少个孩子，有多大了？

已经超过整13年没见面了。。。。忽然间，在圣诞节前的三天，接到了一个电话。。“哈哈，你还认得我都声音。。我和家人将过去度假呢。。”

在28-12-2011 星期三，我们终于再见面了，他没有多大的改变，只是孩子长大了。我们最后一次见面是在诗巫，当时她的太太刚产下了他们的第一个孩子，现在都已经十四岁了！

陈冉颖，太太及三个孩子，及岳母一起，到吉隆坡来度假。他住在这里的小舅John, 太太Winnie，陪同他们到布城，云顶及马六甲游玩，然后一起来到了我的家。

另一个惊奇，从来没见过面的Winnie, 原来是在沙登医院服务，刚在两个星期前，太太在骨科部门还见过她，受她诊治呢! 所以太太说：“我认得你呢！”

一切赞美及荣耀都归于主！

I saw another car without four tyres at the entrance of the church....

And I was told that robbers has entered into church compound this morning at about 7:30 am, robbed 3 parishioners who were praying inside the adoration room next to the church ...

Is robbers' lair nearby?

Is our country safe? How do the police got their improved KPI ...???

I don't feel safe!

我也得悉今天早上七时半左右，强盗进入教堂隔邻的祈祷室，抢了正在朝拜圣体的数教友的财物。。。。

难道贼巢就在附近？

我们的国家安全吗？警察部队如何可以取得改善的效率指数。。？？

圣诞节南下新山，除了与岳父母共度圣诞，也与他们共庆结婚六十周年钻禧志庆。

六十年前的那一天（27-12-1951），岳父和岳母两人，携手步入无染原罪圣母教堂，在天主的面前，缔结连理，共度一生的婚姻生活。

二十五年后, 在 25-11-1976的那一天，我也进入同一间教堂，迎娶了他们的次女。假如岳父母的婚姻是模范，那我还得再走至少二十五年呢！我突然有了脚软的感觉！

六十年是段好长的日子，充满了风风雨雨，包含了好多的忧虑与纷争，泪水与汗滴，悲伤与喜乐。。。他们都一一克服及度过。

他们现在是子孙满堂，得享清福。岳父虽已八十五岁了，但仍然身体健康，行动自如，血压及心脏都正常。岳母也近八十岁，仍然过着活跃的生活，最近还积极的参与圣母军各种拜访，讲座等活动。

岳父母决定以低调的家庭式来庆祝他们的六十钻禧。他们住在澳洲悉尼的孙子本雅明，邀请了悉尼的彼得神父主持了一台感恩弥撒。彼得神父在前往越南的途中，特地转道前来新山共庆。

We went down south to Johor Baru, not only to celebrate Christmas with my parents in law, but also their 60th diamond wedding anniversary.

60 years ago, on 27-12-1951, father and mother in law walked into the Church of the Immaculate Conception, in front of God, committed to their wedding vows, to a life of wedded union.

25 years later, on 25-11-1976, I entered into the same church to wed their 2nd daughter . Taking them as the model, I have to trod at least another 25 years to reach the diamond anniversary ... Suddenly, I have the knee-jerk sensations.

60 years is a long long time. It filled with many laughters and tears, worries and anxieties, sickness and health ... and they persevered and prevailed.

My father in law is already 85 years of age but still healthy and active, with no heart or blood pressure problems. My mother in law is almost 80 years old and living busily. She participated actively in legion visitation and other activities.

It was a low-key family celebration. A Thanksgiving Mass was celebrated at home by Rev. Fr. Peter from Sydney, Australia. He was en-route to Vietnam and made a special stopover for the occasion on the invitation by Ben, one of the many grandsons who is residing in Sydney.

We attended 9:30 am Christmas day Mass at the Sacred Heart Church....

Then at night, Christmas dinner at Tony & Susan's house, kind of re-union of family members, from Australia and New Zealand and .... Kajang la...de!!

Due to overcrowding, my wife and I decided to stay in a hotel. (more pics in Facebook）

欢庆圣诞日。

圣诞节就是参加耶稣诞辰的弥撒。

我们参加了新山圣心主教座堂九点三十分的弥撒。

然后在晚上，到东尼及苏珊的家参加了圣诞聚餐，差不多就是家庭团圆，一些来自澳洲及纽西兰，当晚也有来自。。。加影啦！

这次因为人数众多，我和太太决定进住酒店。

It is raining season in Malaysia (monsoon weather). It is cloudy, drizzling right now (10:30am), temperature 26 degree C (80 degree F).

Chinese throughout the world are celebrating Winter Festival (Winter Solstice) today.

It is one month before Lunar Chinese New Year. (First day of the New Year falls on 23/1/2012).

The festival is celebrated by eating Tangyuan and a family dinner.

Like many other families, our children are staying outside and overseas and not expected to be home, so me and my wife would be ... no celebration.

However, our friend Mrs Lee has invited us to join their family dinner tonight !

It is the spirit that matters.

马来西亚现在正处于东北季候风雨季时期。现在（早上10：30）正下着细雨，阴天。气温26度摄氏或80度华氏）

今天全球华人欢庆冬至节，吃汤圆，吃团圆饭。

如好多家庭版，我们的孩子都在外住（及国外），所以今天不回家，那就只剩下我俩老的。我们就。。。没庆祝。。

不过，我们的好朋友李太，邀请我们今晚到她家共度佳节

团圆精神才是最重要。

Two court cases attracted national and international attention.

1. Former Mentri Besar (Chief Minister) of Selangor state Khir Toyo's corruption case will have a verdict on Dec 23.

2. After a lengthy 87 days hearing, High Court Justice will deliver its verdict on Opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim's sodomy case II on Jan 9, 2012.

Looking into my fish bowl water, I see Khir Toyo is being set free (2-1)and Anwar going to jail (3-0).

*** 23/12/2011 Verdict: Khir Toyo has been found guilty of corruption and sentenced to 12 months jail and the property in question has been ordered to be forfeited to the government. However, the court granted a stay of execution pending appeal. He is allowed a bail of RM 750,000.00

我国法庭两案件，受到国内及国外的关注。

1. 前任雪兰莪州州务大臣基尔的贪污案件，将在十二月二十三日下判。

2. 反对党领袖安华的肛交案，经过87天冗长的审讯之后，法官将在明年一月九日下判。

我观看了家里鱼缸是水，见到了基尔将会无罪释放 (2-1)，安华则被判监 (3-0)。

It is a sad day for me.

Visited two old folks this morning, both about 84 years old, at homes in KL and Petaling Jaya with my wife and friend Mrs Lee.

One is lively with plenty of care and love from children. She stays in a single room with air condition. Move about freely and actively.

The other one is sad, sunken and crying.....

After that, we went to Assunta Hospital to visit Fr. Henriot ... good news is ...he has been discharged and back to Little Sister of the Poor nursing home. Shall visit him in a later date.

Later in the afternoon, I received SMS from my nephew, his mother (my second sister) was admitted to Seremban General Hospital this morning for Gallbladder infection.

She was operated later and found to have a proliferated Gall Bladder with plenty of gallstones. Some complications ... half of the bladder has been removed, the other half was too dangerous to remove .... She is resting after operation.

According to my nephew, "...long road to recovery, but surely.... "

May our Lord bless them all.

今天是令我不快乐的一天。

今早，我和太太及朋友李太，一同到吉隆坡和八打灵的两家老人院，探望了两位老人，都是大约84岁。

第一位生活的相当快乐，因为有孩子的关心和爱心。她住的是高级老人院，单人房，24小时空调。行动自如，也很自由。

另一位则是很消瘦，忧伤及泪流。。。。

过后我们到亚松大医院探访夏理和神父，但他已经出院了，扑了个空。不过，这是个好消息。下次到安贫老人院去探望他。

下午，我收到外甥的一则短讯，告诉我他的妈妈（就是我的二姐）因胆发炎，今早紧急送进芙蓉中央医院。

过后，进行了手术，发现是胆发炎破裂。。。有点麻烦，医生只能够切除半个胆，另一半太靠近肝，因风险高，而没有切除。手术过后，她在休息中。。。。

就如我的外甥告诉我：“。。。复原的路会很长，但一定能够。。”。

愿主耶稣保佑她们！

On 14/12/2011 Wednesday, my BEC 1 (neighborhood group) started our house to house Caroling.

A group of youngsters started learning guitar 2 years ago specially for caroling. My greatest appreciation to them for their hard work, their parents who gave them full support, and their teacher who volunteered to teach them free of charge.

圣诞即将来临了。。。

星期三，14/12/2011, 我的基基团（基督基层团体BEC）开始了家庭报佳音。

一群年轻人，在两年前就开始学习吉他，希望能够圣诞时去报佳音。我非常的感激他们的努力，也感激他们的父母给予的绝对支持，更要感谢免费教导他们的老师。

BEC outing BEC户外活动

On Dec 9 & 10, Sg Jelok BEC 1 organised an outing to The Farm. 43 of us went for this 2 days 1 night trip.

Among us, a lady member who is undergoing radiotherapy for her breast cancer. Immediately after her treatment session in a KL hospital, she followed her husband and children to the Farm. Before radiotherapy, she has already completed a course of chemotherapy.

She is a brave woman. Family support and her strong faith saw her through the torturous chemotherapy, and now radiotherapy. We are proud of her and pray to Jesus to protect her and give her the strength to complete yet another 20 session of painful radiotherapy treatment, and to the road of recovery.

Our BEC is not solely rooted on intellectual interaction (Bible sharing, monthly leaflet reflection) but more on person to person interaction, strengthened by family Rosary, love, mutual respect and acceptance of one and other.

BEC building has reached a bottle neck in recent years. It is stuck in the phase of holding Bibles and refection leaflets, month in month out, year in year out.... Hardly 20 % of them are active, more than 50% are dormant....

In our BEC, we have Ah Mahs who cannot read, and speak only broken Malay; Chinese elderly members who don't read and speak dialects only; many ladies and men who show no interest of Bible sharing and reflection papers sessions ....

Instead of holding Bibles and refection papers all the time, we are stretching our hands, reaching out for personal interaction, to build friendship and communion - with Jesus, people and the parish.

As one of our members put the spirit of BEC building in a prospective :" I brought my whole family here, for fellowship and interaction with other members of the community..." .

It is commitment and desire that build community, not intellectual and knowledge only.

It was a fun trip ...filled with songs, games, laughters .... and food !

十二月九日及十日，加影双溪朱落第一基基团(基督基层团体BEC 1)，于园庄渡假屋 The Farm主办了一项户外旅游。这两天一夜的活动，吸引了43位团员参与。

其中一位女团员，正接受乳癌的电疗。当天，她在吉隆坡一间医院完成了一个疗程之后，马上陪同丈夫及孩子，到了园庄，参加这个活动。

她的确是个勇敢的妇人。家人的支持，自己坚强的信德，使她度过了非常艰苦的化学治疗时期，现在还需再接受一个20次的电波疗程。我们敬佩她，也为她祈求耶稣基督的护卫，赐她力量，以完成这一个电波疗程，往康复之路迈进。

我们这个基基团，并不完成依靠理，智的互动（如圣经分享，月省册子），但更依靠人际的直接交往及互动，以玫瑰经，爱，互相尊重及接纳下，得以坚固。

过去的几年，建设基基团，已经到了一个瓶颈，停留在手捧圣经及反省册子之间，一月复一月，一年复一年，在理论之中，徘徊及停滞不前。真正活跃的基基团，不到20 巴仙，而超过50巴仙，进入了静止状态。

建设基基团，在西马已经有三十多年的历史，也别无选择了。但据我本人的经验，基基团就如曹操丢掷的鸡肋，食之无味，弃之可惜。。。三十多年了，但又没有更好的替代。月复一月，年复一年，问题一箩箩，都扫在地毯下。以集会次数，参加人数为准，报告写得好，数字搞一搞，一切看起来。。。。都很好！

我的基基团，有着好多印籍，华籍阿嫲只会说自己的方言，一点点马来文。。更有许多根本对基基团集会没兴趣，更不必说圣经分享及小册子反省。

我们跳出了圈套，把手伸出，手拉手，一起走。。。建立个人关系，进而利用此平台发展共融 - 与基督，团体及堂区的共融。

一位团员把建设基基团的精神概括出来：“我带了整家人（太太及孩子）到来参加这活动，是要他们与其他的家庭及团员交流，互动及共融。。”

建立团体需要承诺及意愿，不只是理论及知识而已。

我们的聚会，充满了歌唱，游戏及欢笑。。。还有美味的食物！

A year is almost gone, it's time for the legionaries to sit back and relax ...

The Kuala Lumpur Regia (highest council in Peninsular Malaysia) held its Annual General Reunion (AGR) today at the church hall of St. Joseph's Church, Sentul, Kuala Lumpur.

About 600 legionaries of various languages from Klang Valley area attended the function.

Fr. Stanislaus, the Parish Priest of St. Joseph's Church welcomed legionaries to his parish. In his address, he highlighted 3 important characteristic of being a good legionaries:

1. Communion with the Church & community - Good relationship with people and community. Sacrament of Reconciliation is the powerful means to achieve this objective.
2. Communion with Jesus - Mass and Holy Eucharist
3. Communion with Mary - Praying the Rosary. Devotion to Mary will lead to closer communion with Jesus.

Newly ordained Rev. Fr. Andrew Wong came for this function too. He expressed his joy of meeting legionaries in this function. He quoted the life and good work of Frank Duff, the founder of Legion of Mary, to encourage and motivate legionaries to go for further advancement of their Callings.

AGR is an annual reunion of legionaries of a district. It is a social evening with minimum formality. It is light-hearted event to foster interaction and affection of members. All programmes are contributions from members.

一年即将过去，是圣母军军友放松及娱兴的时候了。

吉隆坡区域团（西马最高部门）在今天，假吉隆坡冼都圣若瑟堂区礼堂主办了『常年联欢大会』 (A.G.R)。

大约600位来自巴生谷的各语言组圣母军友，参加了这个年度的活动。

堂区主任史丹利劳斯神父欢迎大家的到来。在致辞中，他提出了三个特点，用于劝勉军友们成为更好的圣母军团员：

1. 与教会共融 - 与个人及团体建立良好的关系。和好圣事是修好关系的最佳途径。
2. 与基督共融 - 参加弥撒，勤领圣体。
3. 与圣母共融 - 藉玫瑰经与圣母建立密切关系。与圣母的密切关系，是与耶稣建立亲密关系的管道。

刚在十一月底晋铎的黄鏓颖神父，也到来参加这个聚会。曾经是圣母军团员的新铎，向军友们致辞的时候，道出了他心中的喜悦。他邀请军友们放松自己，好好享受这个聚会所带来的各项余兴节目。

他也不忘与军友们分享圣母军创始人杜辉兄弟的生平及言行，鼓励军友们更上层楼。他提到杜辉兄弟所写的一本小册子『每个人都能够成为圣人』，作为军友们成圣的指南及地图。

常年联欢大会是圣母军的常年活动之一，是一个地区的军友团聚的活动。这活动没有繁文缛节，是个轻松的社交集会，目的就是要促进团员之间的互动及感情。节目都是由团员呈献。

Today, Dec 7 Wednesday at 8:00 pm, all families in the parish of Holy Family, Kajang, upon calling from parish priests, gathered at their individual BEC ( neighbourhood) for an hour of Advent prayer and reflection.

A Christmas wreath and four candles, brought us into prayerful atmosphere.

今天，十二月七日星期三，晚上八时正，加影圣家教堂所有的教友教堂，响应本堂神父的呼吁，聚集在个别的基层团体（邻里），做一个小时的将临期的祈祷及反省。

圣诞花圈及四支降临期蜡烛，引领我们进入今晚的祈祷气氛。

Read a current affair commentary recently about idiocy in Malaysia.

I looked up to Merriam-Webster dictionary, Idiocy means :
1. Extreme mental retardation;
2. Something notably stupid or foolish.

Former premier Dr Mahathir Mohamad has told a gathering of diplomats and other foreigners that, due to scholarships and higher education, “there are hardly any idiots left in Malaysia” and that “this gives the government a headache”.

But from all the symptoms I see, the vast majority of Malaysians are as “slightly less intelligent” as Dr M and his Umno/BN colleagues could possibly wish them to be, and gibbering idiots are as plentiful as ever.

In fact Malaysia’s perennial epidemic of political idiocy continues to rage unchecked, with millions of apparently sentient adults still so intellectually or ideologically-impaired as to be somehow unable or unwilling to register to vote.

And even more Malaysians are so stupid or at least naive as to still swallow the overdoses of lies perpetually prescribed by Dr M and the rest of Umno/BN’s teams of spin-doctors, and forced down their throats day after day by the editors (ediots?) of the mainstream media.

Then there are those political figures who are ever ready to resort to idiocy, whether genuine or cunningly simulated to disguise rat-cunning, in attempts to dupe anyone feeble-minded enough to take them seriously.

Like Hasan Ali in his recent support of the claim by the Selangor Islamic Affairs Department that Christians are proselytising Muslims using “solar-powered hand-held talking bibles”.

Like Deputy Sports Minister Razali Ibrahim in his statement last week that the hostile reception given by Indonesian fans to Malaysian teams at the SEA Games in Jakarta was because “opposition leaders have been making a beeline for Indonesia to bad mouth our country”.

Like that serial offender in the idiocy stakes, Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Mohd Nazri Abdul Aziz, who recently outrageously proclaimed that “homosexuality goes against Islam, the religion of the federation of Malaysia, and its practice in the country is therefore unconstitutional”.

...........

And the most idiotic performer of all, of course, is Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak, who seems to be operating under the delusion that the whole world is full of dummies just dying to be deceived by his lying words and devious deeds.

Witness his promised ‘reforms’. The Printing Presses and Publications Act, for example, the very legislation designed to keep the Malaysian electorate as idiotic and ignorant as possible, will remain utterly unchanged save for the need to apply annually for a government license.

Then there is the ‘Improvement’ of Malaysia’s grossly unjust, unfair and outright corrupt electoral system to be ‘studied’ by a committee until, if possible, after the next general election.

Malaysia’s detested and disgraceful Internal Security Act is supposed to be ‘abolished’, but in practice seems set to be rendered an Eternal Security Act by new provisions for detention without charge or trial..........

In the Land of Boleh (Can do), there are idiots aplenty, shameless ... no such word SHAME in their dictionaries !

Sekinchan revisited 再访适耕庄

On Aug 11, we visited Sekinchan, the rice belt of the state of Selangor. The padi was newly planted. (Old posting A grateful day in Mandarin)

Today, we went back to Sekinchan to see the harvesting of padi.

On our way to Sekinchan, we stopped by Bukit Melawati, Kuala Selangor. Bukit Melawati is a fort built in 1907 by the then Sultan of Selangor and few canons were erected to protect the land from invading Dutch army. A light house was built at the top of the hill, it is still in use today.

It can be easily accessed by driving up to the hill where we have a good view of selangor coastline.

在今年的八月十一日，我们到适耕庄一游，观赏稻田（看旧帖子感恩的一天）。当时刚播种不久，所以稻田很幼嫩。

今天我们重回适耕庄，因为是稻米收割的时候了。

前往适耕庄的路途中，我们到瓜拉雪兰莪的 Bukit Melawati 一游。

Bukit Melawati 是一位雪兰莪苏丹，在1907年建立在一个小山上的防卫堡垒，并放有数台大炮，以对付来侵略的荷兰人。在山顶处，也建立了一座灯塔，至今仍然在使用着。

我们可以很方便地驾车上到小山上，可以远眺雪兰莪的海岸线。山上也有很多猴子，等候人们给它们食物。（更多照片在Facebook）

In Malaysian dictionary, there is no such word : SHAME. (see old posting Transformation)

A woman minister's husband got a big grant of RM 250 millions from government to set up a cattle farm named National Feedlot Corporation (NFL). (Please check into NFC website to read about the impressive credential and ambitious "sacred" mission of this company)

The Auditor-General’s Report released recently had criticised the NFC, pointing out that it was now “in a mess”. The report said production in 2010 was only 3,289 head of cattle or 41.1 per cent of the target set.

Agriculture Minister Noh Omar, however, responded on October 31 that the project is a success and had met its targets.

Nonetheless, an Opposition leader revealed that the company spent RM 10 millions to purchase two units of luxurious condominium in Bangsar .....

According to its Chairman (Minister's husband): " it is a good business decision ... because it yields better returns for the NFC project compared to keeping the money in a bank. "

So instead of rearing cows, the company purchased two cash cows!!

Malaysians surely know, beneath the surface, it is more than that.......

And it's nothing wrong with it! Many UMNO (dominant Malay party) leaders defended the decision of the company - no corruption, no malpractices, no wrong doing. Morally and legally, it is alright!!

And the woman Minister herself, after a long silence, said it clearly: Don' t disturb me, I have nothing to do with my husband's business....

This is Malaysian Shameless Cattle Gate.(shameful?!?!)

Meanwhile, the Corruption Perception Index (CPI) ranking for Malaysia has dipped from 56th place last year to 60th this year, the worst in 10 years, according to Transparency International Malaysia (TI-M).

There is no such word SHAME in our Malaysian dictionary. We are shameless!!

NO to airport tax increase, No to Air Asia the Big Bully

Tony Fernandez, owner of Air Asia, seems to be The Hero by rejecting the increase of airport tax imposed by Malayisia Airport Holdings Bhd (MAHB). He is protecting our (passengers) pockets!

But on the other hand, Air Asia, in the past years, and is continuing to add various types of fees, charges to passengers at its whim and fancy, without "consulting us", without considering our "shrinking pockets".

Just name a few:

Calling Air Asia hot-line for assistance, you will be charged an exorbitant RM1.95 per minute! Only a shameless corporation would charge for customer service!(a distress call to Air Asia Computerised Customer Service Center can cost RM15.00 upwards! and yet the problem remains unsolved)

You will be slapped with RM16.00 convenience fee if you pay your booking with credit card ... shameless!

RM200.00 processing fee for changing schedule .......

Air Asia has grown from a tiny humble budget airline to a Powerful Ugly BIG BULLY budget airline, AND Tony Fernandez is bullying the MAHB by refusing to pay..... !!

Either way, between the crocodile and alligator, we the passengers are the losers.

We do not need Tony Fernandez to champion our cause ! He has made enough of money to fuel his high flying F1, EPL...lifestyle....just go on to enjoy your life Tony the Bully!

今早去加影巴刹购买一些物品，也顺便看看市区，特别是巴刹的部分，水劫过后的情形。

很多商店已经在水退后，马上到清理，已经可以继续营业。巴刹也清洗了，摊档都照常营业。

这是加影近十年来最严重的一次水灾。

Early in the morning, we went to market for some supply, and also to see Kajang town after flood.

Many shops has started their cleaning and ready for business. The market also has been cleaned up and business as usual.

This is the worse flood in a decade.

My opposite neighbour （water later reached the car porch, into the house)
我的对面邻居（水位最后淹到了车房，进入了屋内）

It rained heavily at about 3:45 pm.

I saw the water level at the drain in front of my house was high ... within 10 minutes, it overflowed and flooded the road.

My neighbours were rushing to drive out their cars from the houses....

It is one of the worst flood in recent years in Kajang area.

I learned that the town was inundated with a meter deep of water.

My house on a higher ground, not affected inside.
我的家在较高处，没受影响。

大约在下午三点四十五分，加影下了一场大雨。

我见到屋前水沟的水位很高。。。不到十分钟，水沟满溢，大路给水覆盖了。

我见到邻居们忙着把车从车房驾出，停放到较高的地方。

这是近几年来，加影地区最坏的水患之一。

我听说市区更糟糕，被洪水淹盖，深至一公尺，很多汽车都被淹在水中。

German visitor 德国访客

Nov 29. 5:00 pm.

On board a flight from Vientian, Laos to Kuala Lumpur, an Malaysian passenger was coming home after a holiday in Laos, struck a conversation with a German who continued his Asian holiday after Laos.

Both were stranger to each other, and their meeting each other on board a plane was one in a million.

"..so Mr. Lee, which city in Malaysia you are staying in?"

" I am staying in Kajang..."

" ah ha ... I would be going to Kajang to visit a friend .... her name? Pauline..."

"... Pauline ... Pauline ...and German Embassy ..... Ah! I remembered ....one of my wife's good friends named Pauline too ....."

Two hours later...at Kuala Lumpur airport.

" Hi Pauline, Lee here. Do you have a German friend Mr. Eilers ....?"

The world is not a big place after all!!!

Today, at about 10:30am, we welcomed Mr. Eilers to our home.

Mr. Eilers was former Chancellor of the German Embassy in Kuala Lumpur, then Pauline's immediate boss.

He left Kuala Lumpur in 2004 for a new posting in Iceland. He is now retired.

He is back to this region on holiday after 7 years which covers Laos, Singapore, Sarawak (Mulu Caves), Kuala Lumpur, Cameron Highlands，Melaka and Penang.

My wife has a lot of catching up with Mr. Eilers.

We accompanied him for a Putrajaya visit and he left for Kuala Lumpur after lunch. （More pictures in Facebook)

十一月二十九日，傍晚五点。

一架从寮国永珍飞往吉隆坡的班机上，一位旅游寮国后回国的马来西亚游客，与一位飞往吉隆坡继续他的亚洲旅游行程的德国旅客，互相交谈。

“。。。唔。。李先生，请问你住在马来西亚的那个地方？”

“我就住在加影。。”

“哦。。我将会去加影探访一位朋友。她的名字？她叫Pauline..."

" Pauline。。。Pauline。。。德国大使馆。。。喔我想起了。我太太有位好朋友，名字也叫Pauline。。。”

两个小时后的吉隆坡机场。

“嗨 Pauline, 我是李先生，请问你有一位德国朋友艾肋斯先生吗？”

这个世界真小！

今天早上大约十点半，我和太太迎接了艾肋斯先生的到访。

艾肋斯先生(Mr. Eilers)是前任吉隆坡德国大使馆的总监，是太太当时的上司。

他于2004年，离开吉隆坡，调派到冰岛履新，过后，他就退休了。

七年后，他重游这个地区，包括了寮国，新加坡，砂劳越（姆禄洞），吉隆坡，金马伦高原，马六甲及槟城。

太太与他谈了好多个别及相识们的生活近况。过后，我们陪他到布城 (Putrajaya) 观光。在2004年他离开时，布城还没有全部开发。

A long day, a happy day, a blessed day.

I was in Ipoh today (Wednesday) to attend the Priestly Ordination of Deacon Andrew Wong at the Church of St. Michael.

Bishop of Penang Diocese, Rev. Selvanayagam presiding, with more than 40 priests, many religious brothers and sisters, more than 1000 laity from far and near, including East Malaysia and Taiwan, attended the ceremony which started at 6:30 pm.

Newly ordained Rev. Fr. Andrew (42) was a Chartered Accountant before entering CDD seminary in 2002. He is the eldest and only boy in the family 4 children. He also has a younger sister who joined the Infant Jesus religious order.

很长的一天，很喜乐的一天，也是受祝福的一天。

今天（星期三）我上了怡保，到圣米高教堂参加黄鏓颖执事的晋铎典礼。

该典礼在傍晚六时半开始，由槟城西华奈耶干主教主持，超过四十位主教，许多修士修女，来自远近，包括东马及台湾的超过一千为的平信徒，参与了这个隆重的典礼。

新铎黄鏓颖神父是一位特许会计师，已有十四年的工作经验。但他毅然的放弃一切，回应了天主的召叫，于2002年，进入主徒会修院。后被派往台湾接受神，哲学课程。

黄神父是家中的长子及唯一的男孩，有三位妹妹，其中一位是圣婴会对修女。父母已经过世。

Something wrong with my camera ... so look for Lim Chee Keong!

My wife and I, with our "ma yi" friend Mrs Lee, we went up to Bentong this morning.

May be camera was an excuse ... the more genuine intention was - to visit Lim Chee Keong, his wife and their two sweetie daughters.

I have not met their two sweetheart, Lim Jing (4years) and Lim Jie (1+) since their birth!! (only through Facebook)

New media (Internet, Facebook, Blogs, Twitter..) can never replaced personal human interaction face to face.

Chee Keong and wife welcomed us warmly. Food and drink followed.

我们太太及孖二老友李太，今早就上去文冬。（上山）

相机可能是个藉口，更真实的应该是我诚心的要去探访林志强夫妇及他们的两个心肝宝贝女儿。

自她们从母胎呱呱落地之后，我还没有和林静（四岁）及林洁（一岁多）见过面，只在面子书上认识她们。

林静虽然只有四岁，但已长得“亭亭玉立”，精灵可爱，还可以拿着相机，为我们拍照。

新媒体（网际网络，面子书，部落格，推特等）都不能给代替人与人之间面对面的互动。

志强夫妇热情的欢迎我们，当然不用说，请吃又请喝了：

1. 我指明不要上馆子，所以就吃了云吞面，板麵，酿豆腐博。

The floating chalets 海上度假屋

After Gua Tempurung, we headed north towards Kuala Sepetang, a fishing village near Taiping. Kuala Sepetang was formerly called Port Weld, the first port of Malaya where the first Malayan railway was built.

At Kuala Sepetang, we boarded a fishing boat to the floating chalet which was about half an hour boat ride away.

The floating chalet was built about four years ago. It has six rooms catering for about 50 pax and equipped with basic facilities like bathrooms, toilets and fans.

The meals provided were fantastic ... seafood, seafood and seafood!

Members enjoyed themselves by playing mahjong, card games and karaoke.

We were lucky to see dolphins the next morning as we were leaving for Kuala Sepetang.

After a visit to Taiping Zoo, we had lunch at a hawker center with almost hundred stalls selling delicious local food, very delicious local food.

That ended our 2day/1 night outing and we reached home at about 8:30 pm.

离开了椰壳洞后，我们往北方的十八丁前进。十八丁是霹雳州的一个渔村，英国殖民地时期称为维特港口(Port Weld)，是马来亚的第一个港口，也是马来亚第一条铁道的所在地。

从十八丁，我们乘搭小渔船到半个小时海路外的一间海水度假屋。

这间海上渡假村大约在四年前落成，可容纳大约五十人，拥有基本的设备，如厕所，冲凉房，风扇等。

这里提供的食物倒是非常的丰富，都是海鲜，海鲜，海鲜！

团员们都有各自的娱乐，如打麻将，玩桥牌及唱卡啦OK 等，玩得不亦乐乎！

我们很幸运的在隔天离开时，见到一群海豚，在海中游戏作乐。

我们也参观了太平动物园。午间，我们到一间小吃中心享用美味的道地食物。这里有整百摊档，各种食物，任君选择。

我们的旅游就此结束，在晚上大约八时半，回到了加影，顺利的完成了2天3夜的旅游。

Today, I took KTM commuter train to Kuala Lumpur to visit my old friend David Chia and Raymond Ong. Have not been taking train for about 3 years !

I parked my car securely at our church carpark and walked 10 minutes to the train station.

The ride was smooth and comfortable .... until we reached Seputih station. Something wronged somewhere ... it remained stationary for about twenty minutes, then moving slowly to Mid-valley station.

"Turun, turun, turun, train rosak ...(get down, get down, train broke down..)" the train driver were yelling to passengers as if he was herding the sheep. Apparently we have to get down due to some mechanical fault of the train.

We boarded the next train which was rather full.

From Kuala Lumpur main station, I walked about 20 minutes to David Chia's office at Petaling Street.

We had the famous beef noodles for lunch. Later, David brought me to a tea stall to have tea and the famous curry puff of Petaling Street ...... Two bites of curry puff, one sip of tea .... such a leisure and pleasure .... plenty of catching up and fellowship.

I left at about 2:30 pm.

A wonderful day indeed for me !

大约有三年没有乘坐电动火车了。

今天早上，把车安稳的停放在教堂的停车场，走了十分钟的路程，到火车站乘搭电动火车（KTM Commuter）到吉隆坡，探访老朋友谢家强（老总）及王秀明。

火车准时的抵达，旅程也非常的舒适，直到半个小时后，抵达士布爹站，火车就停留了大约二十分钟。过后，慢慢的开行到下一站谷中城。司机就喊道：“下车，下车，下车，火车怀了。。”好像赶羊般的把乘客叫了下车。看来火车是出了状况，我们都得下车，等下一趟了。

下一趟车十分钟后到了，几乎满座，但都得挤上去。

我在吉隆坡总站下车，步行大约20分钟，到茨厂街（Petaling Street）谢家强的办公室。

我们去附近著名的牛肉面档吃午餐。过后，老总带我去后巷一间摊档喝茶，加上茨厂街道著名的咖哩角。。。吃两口咖哩角，喝一口茶，风味无穷。我们边喝边谈天，难得此乐。。。

我在下午大约两点半左右才离开。

Fr. Henriot (88) suffered a stroke about a week ago and was admitted to Assunta Hospital, Petaling Jaya.

My wife and I visited him this morning. His condition is stable but not able to speak. He can move his limbs but closes his eyes most of the time. Once in a while able to shake the bell given to him to acknowledge visitors.

Fr. Philip Tan (CDD Provincial), Diocesan Fr. Stanislaus and Fr. Ferdinand were there. A group of parishioners from Kuantan and Bentong, including Tan Sri Lim Ah Lek, were there too.

Please pray for Fr. Henriot speedy recovery.

Lord have mercy. Amen.

法国籍夏理和神父，约在一个星期前突发脑中风，被送入八打灵的亚松大医院就医。

今天早上，我和太太去探望了他。他的情况稳定，但不能够说话。他能够移动手和脚，但很多时候都闭上眼睛。偶尔会以手上的摇铃来回应访客的到来。

到访的还有主徒会马来西亚省会长陈聪敏神父，教区思丹利劳神父及费迪南神父。关丹及文冬也有一些教友到来，包括丹斯里林亚礼。

请为夏神父的康复祈祷。

Adventure, food and fellowship 探幽，美食及联谊

The story.

In the early eighties, Tachi Qigong 18 styles was the most popular Taichi & Qigong exercise among the Chinese community in Malaysia. This exercise was originated from Mainland China but popularized by the Indonesian Chinese.

On August 1986. The then Parish Priest Rev. Fr. Henriot gave the permission allowing me to start Holy Family Taichi Qigong Exercise Group which also open to non-Christians' participation. (Fr. Henriot suffered a stroke ten days ago. He is recuperating in Assunta Hospital,P.J.Able to move limbs but unable to speak)

The main objectives of the group were and still are : 1) to promote Taichi Qigong exercise for good health and well being, 2) To foster friendship and understanding among parishioners, and with Kajang non-Christian community.

It charged no fee and solicited no money. All it needed were an open space and a plug point for a small cassette/CD player for exercise music.

The car park of the church was the most suitable place. And on this car park, we have been through 25 years, or 7800 happy exercise days, building up health and friendship, happiness and comradeship!

As part of the anniversary celebrations, we organized an outing to Gua Tempurung and Kuala Sepetang water chalet on Nov. 17th & 18th.

Gua Tempurung (Coconut shell caves) is the largest cave in Peninsular Malaysia. It is located near Gopeng town, which is about 25 km from Ipoh.

About 30 of us, age ranges from 3 to 73 years old, picked the two and a half hour guided tour which led us 64o steps up to the "top of the world" formation and another 200 plus steps down to the underground river adventure. Other with medical condition chose the easier half an hour tour.

It is a magnificent cave system comparable with Mulu Caves. I really enjoyed the tour. (see pictures in Facebook and video in Youtube)

在八十年代，『太极气功十八式』在本地非常大流行。这项由中国林厚省气功师傅发明的太极气功混合运动，却在印尼宣起了一阵旋风，风靡全国，然后从印尼传到了马来西亚。

这太极气功运动非常简易，但疗效非常的好，得到许多人的见证。

一九八六年的八月，在得到当时的本堂主任夏理和神父的允准之下，我就成立了加影圣家堂太极气功班，也同时开放给非教友朋友参加。(夏神父十天前脑中风，目前在八打灵亚松大医院康复。四肢能移动，但不能说话）。

这组织的主要目的是：1. 推动太极气功十八式，鼓励教友练习强身健体，保持健康。2. 促进教友们之间，以及教友与非教友团体间的友谊及共融。这宗旨到目前为止仍然保持不变，但可惜的是参与教友从大多数，已经跌到了不到十五巴仙，不过共融及联谊的精神，却与日并进。

加影圣家太极班不受任何费用，也不募收任何捐献。它只需要一块空地及一个电源插座，以播放运动音乐使用。加影教堂的停车场是最适合的地方了。

就在这停车场上，我们渡过了25载的寒暑，或7800天，用于锻炼健康的身体及稳固的友谊，喜乐及伙伴之情。

为庆祝成立25年，在17及18日，我们举办了椰壳洞 -十八丁旅游。

椰壳洞是西马最大的洞穴，坐落在霹雳州的务边(Gopeng)，离开怡保大约25公里，交通非常的方便。

我们一行大约30人，选择两个半小时，有向导带领的山洞游。其他健康有状况或行动不便者，则选择简单的半个小时游。

椰壳洞的确是非常大壮观，可以和姆鲁山洞比美，我非常的喜欢此游。（可看Facebook照片及Youtube 录影）

Mary, my regular hair-dresser was not in good mood today.

When I entered her saloon for my haircut, she was talking to a customer about her brother... not so pleasant tales....

I could feel her fury through the scissors when she was cutting my hair. I was anxious what the end result would be.

Luckily I lost only my sideburns, not my ears !

我常光顾的美发室老板娘玛丽，今天心情看来不是很好。

当我踏入他的美发室时候，她正和一位顾客谈着她的一位兄弟。。。应该不是很好听的故事。

当她为我修剪的时候，从她的剪刀可以感觉到她的怒气。我有点焦虑，不知剪後的结果如何.

幸亏我只是失去了鬓发，不是我的耳朵！

Attended a Chinese couple's wedding dinner at a bungalow converted restaurant called Passion Road at Jln Yap Kwan Seng, Kuala Lumpur.

I presumed it was a Chinese dinner. Quite disappointed, it served "Asia Flavored" food, especially Nyonya food.

For starter, it is Fish soup with white fungus and papaya.....

And the dessert: Fried banana with jack-fruit and syrup...

For the young and trendy, it is called fusion cuisine, for the uninitiated uncle like me, it is simply Lang boh Tee lang, gui boh tee gui (Neither human nor ghost).

From these two items, you can imaging how was the dinner...!

今晚参加了一对华人夫妇的结婚宴会，地点是吉隆坡一间独立洋房改装的餐馆。

我以为是中餐，但却不然，而是“亚洲风味”的菜肴，特别是娘惹式。

开胃菜是鱼汤（两小片扎鱼肉），里面有白木耳和一块木瓜。。。

甜品（甜菜）是炸香蕉掺菠萝加糖浆。。。

对年轻及潮流者而言，这是『多国籍混杂料理』（Fusion cuisine），对我这种无知及不会欣赏的安哥来说，这是“人不像人，鬼不像鬼”。。

整个宴会，从这两道菜，可想而知了！

同桌的几位安蒂盘子里，剩下好多的黄梨炒饭。。。

Bye Bye 再见

Goodbye Taipei ... Goodbye Your Grace....

We thought Autumn in Taipei would be cooling and hoped to enjoy a few cool and refreshing days there. We brought thick jacket too.

The next day after our arrival was “bloody” hot (as the British would say), then continuously rained for the next few days. However, we were blessed to complete our trip with perfection and great satisfaction without disruption.

Today being the last day, we packed our luggage and headed to Archbishop Chancery for lunch. The lunch was surely delicious (see pic in Facebook).

We would like to express our heartfelt thanks and gratitude to His Grace Archbishop Hung for his kindness and generosity; to Cindy and Sr. Angela Yang for their great company, time and effort they have put in to plan our itinerary; to Mr. Lee, Archbishop’s personal driver who was constantly alert and attentive to our needs and making our trip very comfortable and enjoyable.

After lunch, we bid them farewell… adios, until we meet again!

The MAS flight home was delayed for 70 minutes due to Taipei airport traffic condition, nonetheless the plane landed safely at KLIA at 9:30 pm and we were safely home at 11:00 pm.

再见台北，再见总主教。。。

我们以为台北的秋天会很凉爽，所以也带来较厚的夹克，希望享受秋高气爽的几天假期。

抵步后的第二天早上下雨，过后就艳阳高照，蓝天白云，好像马来西亚般的热。过后就连续几天断续的下雨，秋高气爽那只是我的一厢情愿而已。但是，雨没有阻碍我们的行程，藉着天主给予的恩赐，行程顺利完美的完成了。

今天是在台北的最后一天。行李收拾后，离开酒店，往总主教公署“要饭”去了。总主教公署的午餐，的确是美味极了- 食物好吃，很多伙伴一起吃，这就是美味的食谱了！

我们非常感谢与感激洪总主教的热情及慷慨的招待；慈歆及杨修女的细心的陪伴，及花了很多心思安排的行程；总主教的司机李先生，非常和顺，无微不至的照顾我们交通上的一切需要，使到我们的行程非常的舒适及圆满的完成。

午餐后，就向他们告别了。我们乘搭下午三时十分马航班机回国。班机因为台北的机场交通指挥出了状况，而延迟了七十分钟起飞，我们在晚上九时半降落吉隆坡国际机场，十一点正安全的抵达家门。

六天的行程，探望了深坑隐修院的杨修女，加上观光及品尝美食，这一切都归功天主，愿主名受显扬！ <更多照片Facebook>

It was the last time we will be seeing Sr. Marie Aimee of our trip.

Taipei was raining ...wet and cold. We went up the the hill of ShenKeng to visit Sr. Marie this morning and stayed with her for about five hours. We met Mother Superior of the Monastery and some other sisters, and invited to have lunch in the monastery.

We bid farewell to Sr. Marie and left at about 2:00pm.

Shenkeng is famous for its stinky Tofu (fermented smelly tofu), so we made a brief stop at the town to sample this local snack.

In the evening, we had dinner in a Chinese Restaurant with Cindy, Sr. Angela Liao and driver Mr. Lee. The Sozhou & Hangzhou food were delicious.

This is the last night of our trip to Taipei, so after dinner, it is packing time..... (see more pictures in Facebook)

今早我们再次的到深坑隐修院探望玛利亚金燕修女。这是我们此行的最后一次的探望了。

我们在那儿逗留的大约五个小时。我们会见了隐修院的院长姆姆和一些修女，他们很快乐的与我们交谈，并邀请我们在此用午餐。

在下午两点左右，我们想修女告别，换着依依不舍，有点伤心的离开了修院。

深坑的臭豆腐，是很出名的，所以我们就到市镇的一间餐馆尝吃了这台湾人喜好的特别食物。

在傍晚，我们与廖修女，魏秘书（慈歆）及司机李先生，到一家餐馆共进晚餐。这里的苏州及杭州式菜肴，非常的可口。

今晚是我们此行的最后一晚，所以晚餐后，就会在酒店收拾行李了。（Facebook 更多照片）

Today is a long day and an eating day!

My wife and I got up early and went out to explore the local market right in front of the hotel. Many stalls selling fresh vegetables and fruits, meats and seafood.... We had breakfast at a mee stall.

For lunch we have the famous xiao long bao at Din Tai Fung Restaurant. I heard people are willing to join the long queue for for the xiao long bao.

After lunch we headed towards Yehliu to see the famous geological formation - the Queen's head. It was raining intermittently throughout the day and the place was filled with Mainland Chinese tourist, who were unruly, noisy and dirty..spitting idiots, jumping queue and .... we better ran for our life!!

The next destination is Jiufen, an old gold mining town. En-route we stopped by a very unique sanitary wares company that welcomes many tourists come in buses daily.

The company E-Tai Enterprise Co Ltd - is owned by the younger brothers of Taipei Archbishop Most Rev. John Hung.

The old town of Jiufen is a great tourist attraction with many stalls selling all types of foods and wares.

It was almost dark at 5:00pm. We headed towards the famous Keelung Temple night market and enjoyed many local hawker food and drink.

We returned to Archbishop's office in Taipei at about 8:30 pm. To my surprise, I met two Taipei legionaries who were attending a meeting there.

今天是很长的一天，也是吃的一天！

我和太太很早就出去逛酒店外面的道地菜市场。这里有很多的摊档摆卖各种新鲜的蔬菜及水果，还有各种肉类。我们在一间麵档吃了早餐。

午餐时间，我们到台北著名的鼎泰丰餐馆吃小笼包，果然名不虚传。

吃过了午餐，我们前往基隆的野柳观看著名的女皇头像。雨断断续续的下了整天。当时有好多大陆来的游客，吵吵闹闹，不守秩序及规则，插队争吵。。。还是避而远之为妙！

我们下一站是九份，一个旧时的採金矿之地。不过，之前我们顺到基隆参观了一家规模非常大及特别的浴室器材（卫浴）公司。这家公司 - 毅太企业股份有限公司，是台北洪山川总主教的弟弟们所拥有的，每天都迎接很多的游客前来参观。

九份的老街，吸引了许多的游客。这里有好多的商店，售卖各种食物，手工艺品及纪念品。老街挤满了游客。

傍晚五点左右，天已经黑了，我们就到基隆著名的庙口夜市场游逛。我们吃了好多种道地的小吃，美味极了。

在晚上八时半，我们回到了总主教公署，在那儿，我惊奇的遇见了台北圣母军谢素谨，我们尊敬的酒徒会会长，及吴美满姐妹。请看Facebook 更多照片的故事。

Today is a holy day - visits to holy places!

We visited Sr. Marie Yong again this morning ... chatting and sharing....and no ending! We have to leave for Archbishop's office for lunch at noon.

Finally, we met up with Cindy, Archbishop's secretary who arranged our itinerary. She just came back on Sunday from her home town in central Taiwan.

It was heart warming to see Archbishop's office staff, priests and Sister to have lunch (daily) together with Archbishop... a family lunch.

At about 1:45pm, we followed Archbishop to Wufengchi Apparition of our Lady Church, at Jiaoxi town, Yilan, about an hour's drive from Taipei. He was to celebrate with the community marking the 6th anniversary of the opening of the Apparition church.

The church was built on the site marked the apparition of a lady in dazzling white appeared to five non-Christian mountain climbers, who got lost on the way down the mountain one dark night in 1981. They believed it was the Lady who protected them to safety. They later realized who she was when they passed by a Catholic Church and saw a statue of Mary.

The church was backed by mountain, facing the pacific ocean. The famous Wufengchi waterfall was just nearby, and the gushing water sound can be heard clearing.

I have heard about the apparation and the church, and wanted to pay a visit some day...and it was TODAY with God's blessing, without prior planning and knowledge of such a celebration .... my wish fulfilled!!

今天是圣洁的一天 --- 探访了圣洁的地方！

今天一早，我们有到深坑隐修院，探望玛利亚杨金燕修女。。。还是谈不完的故事，喋喋不休。我们不得不离开，因为中午要到总主教府（公署）吃午餐。

总主教公署的午餐是件家庭的事 - 大锅饭！主教府的全体员工，神父们，修女们，会与总主教共进午餐。见到全体一起吃饭，非常令我感动及温馨。

在下午一时四十五分，我们跟随总主教一同到宜兰礁溪的五峰旗圣母朝圣地教堂，庆祝建立六周年。从台北到该地，需时一个小时车程。

教堂建立在1981年，圣母显现给五位迷路的登山者的地点。当时五位非基督徒登山者在夜晚时迷路，他们见到一位穿着光亮白袍的妇人，相信是保护他们平安的下山。当时他们不是该妇人是谁，后来在天主教堂见到了该妇人的塑像，才确认该妇人就是圣母。

朝圣教堂坐落于半山，背山面海（太平洋），旁边就是著名的五峰旗破瀑布。当时下着雨，迷雾袅娜上升，犹如人间仙境！

我得知这朝圣地已经好几年了，我曾想有一天，要到此来观看（朝圣）。。。今天就是这一天了！在毫无计划，对今天庆典毫无知情之下，我今天就实现了这个希望！！这是来自天主的恩宠。

We attended 8:00 Mass at the Holy Trinity Church in front of our hotel.

Before dismissal, names of parishioners who were born in November were called out, birthday cards were presented by the Parish Priest Rev. Fr. Dennis Yang, and then lined up for his blessing ... all in 25 of them, young and old, and took about 20 minutes!

It was first time for me to see such a wonderful event. And to my opinion, it was made possible:
1. Not so big a parish community,
2. Patience and cooperation of parishioners,
3. Dynamic priest.

we were also being welcomed by the parish priest as a first timer to the church. A microphone was giving for us to introduce ourselves. Later, we were invited to the birthday reception held immediately after Mass.

After breakfast, we left for the Carmelite Monastery in Shenkeng to visit Sr. Marie Yong, the main purpose of this Taipei trip.

After almost 10 years, my wife met with Sr. Marie for the first time ! No dramatic emotion, no tearing but just holding of hands and greeting from Sr. Marie: " mommy! "

As for Blaise, our third traveling companion, it was also the first time after almost 8 years ... She sent Sr. Marie off to Taipei at the airport in 2004!

We spent almost 3 hours for catching ups... and left after lunch prepared by the Carmelite sisters.

It was hot in the afternoon and we decided to go to Taipei Zoo to see the Panda. The gift from Mainland China were sleeping coosyly in the air-conditioned enclosure specially built for them.

We have the rare occasion to see a Red Crowned Crane brought in from Japan.

今天我们在酒店前的圣三堂，参加了早上八时的弥撒，由本堂主任杨神父主持。

在弥撒结束前，在十一月出生的教友的名字，不管老少，都被一一念了出来，从神父手中，接过生日贺卡，然后排列在祭台前，领受神父的特别祝福。。。。总共25人，花了大约二十分钟。

这是我第一次见到这么奇妙的事！以我所见，该堂区可以这样做，其因有：

1. 堂区团体不是很大，
2. 教友的耐心及合作精神，
3. 有活力的神父。

因为我们是第一次到访，也受到他们的欢迎，并透过麦克风，简单的作个自我介绍。过后，我们也受邀参加弥撒过后的生日庆祝会。

过后，我们就到深坑加尔默罗隐修院，去拜访玛利亚杨金燕修女，这也是我们此行的主要目的。

太太经过十年后，第一次的与杨修女见面。。。没有激动的情绪，没有流泪，只是四手紧握，和来自修女的一声：“妈咪。。”！

同行的李金梅(Blaise)，也是差不多七年后，与修女再次见面。在2004年，机场送别修女到台北的那一次，是最後一次见面了。

我们畅谈了将近三个小时，在用了有隐修院修女准备的午餐后，就离开了。

下午的天气法非常的热，我们决定到台北动物园观赏猫熊（熊猫）。这对有中国大陆赠送的大家伙，在特别为他们而造的围笼里，呼呼大睡，没有见到他们活泼挑剔的一面。

我们也特地到步行来回二公里的路程，去观看由日本运来的丹顶鹤，一种稀有的动物。

Our plane touched down on time at 7:45 pm at Taoyuan Airport, Taipei.

On hand to welcome us was Sr. Angela Liao and Mr. Lee, Archbishop John Hung's driver. We checked into the guest house of Divine Word Missionaries situated at Xin Dian town. Thanks to Cindy, Archbishop's secretary's great arrangement. I like it !

Taipei is a city that never sleep. We went out to explored the surrounding area and have our supper at a nearby stall.

我们的飞机准时的在傍晚7：45 pm 降落在台北桃园机场。

在场借机的是廖修女和总主教的司机李先生。我们被安排住进于新店的圣言会宾馆。宾馆虽坐落在闹市，但环境幽静，非常舒适。谢谢总主教秘书 Cindy 的悉心安排。。。。I like it !

台北是座不夜城，我们出去外面溜一溜，还吃了夜宵呢！

She professed her final vows in May last year, and I promised to come back for a visit with my wife.

My wife and I will be leaving for Taipei this afternoon at 3:45 pm. and return on Nov 10.

In God's name, Give Thanks In Everything. Amen.

年终将至，是实现今年所以承诺的时候，到台北探望玛利亚杨金燕修女，就是其中一项。

去年的五月，到台北参加了她发永愿典礼时，答应会和太太一同来探望她。

我们将在今天乘搭下午三时四十五分的飞机，到台北去，十号回来。

The Auditor-General's report has highlighted many irregularities, and 9 ministries or departments overspent by RM 3.75 billions. I would like to mention two departments only....

The National Sports Institute acquired 23 horses worth RM5.66 million, without the approval of the Finance Ministry, supposedly to compete in two international championship. The horses remained idle and continue to be fed because some of them either received inadequate training, or sustained injuries or failed the requirement of the competition.

In reply, the Treasury said that the institute has admitted its wrongdoing and promised not to do it again .... good boy, admit your wrong and say sorry ... forgiven!

The Marine Parks Department paid RM56,350.00 for a pair of night vision marine binoculars although the estimated market rate is RM1,940.00 (overpaid by 2,805%); paid RM16,100.00 for a LCD television and DVD player although market valued at RM2,182.00 (overpaid by 638%); paid RM11,845.00 for a laptop and a printer although their market price was RM3.428.00 (overpaid by 246%).

In an unprecedented speed and efficiency, the MACC (Malaysia Anti-Corruption Commission) came out with a statement on Nov 2 that the purchase of binoculars contained no element of corruption, it was merely technicality - no market survay was conducted to find out the actual price! UNBELIEVABLE!

Since 2004, people were paying attention to the irregularities found in the AG report, and demanded the government to punish the culprits; and in 2009, Najib has promised to do so followed the many irregularities found in AG report that year. Until today, no one has been prosecuted ... no even received any blame ...

In the Land of Boleh (can do) where the dead can vote, living can go missing, the most popular word now is "Transformation". The government, the Prime Minister spent millions to engage image consultants to burnish their image in order to win votes.

Transformation through giving out money, distributing money and spending money, at best, resulted in the transformation of exterior image only, nothing in the transformation of HEART!

A heart that knowing no shame, has been formed by corruption and immorality into a heart of stone and has lost the basic sense of normality of decency!

But we shall not give up hope!

In the Land of Boleh, the Name of the Almighty is being uttered by every person (including the shameless), and be heard everywhere. So ... let us turn to God the Almighty, pray to him to give us strength to transform our hearts, a heart of flesh and be filled with moral and decency...

" I will give them a single heart and I will put a new spirit in them; I will remove the heart of stone from their bodies and give them a heart of flesh instead, so that they will keep my laws and respect my observances and put them into practice. Then they shall be my people and I will be their God..." (Ezekiel 11:19)

As a citizen of this land, expecting a 10 cents discount on a kilogram of vegetable; rejoice in a 20 cents discount on a kilogram of Rambutan fruits; a worker who almost lost the job because of extra Rm100.00 on company purchases, is feeling pain and angry on billions of Ringgit lost ....

It must be translated into action, no by others but myself (ourselves) ... We Want a Transformation of Heart !

“这国家的字典里，没有羞耻，因为廉义早已死去。。。。。” 这是马来西亚只会千的成名曲。

2010年国家总稽查司报告,许多政府部门的财政出现很多弊端, 九个部门总共超支了马币三十七亿元，其中有好多项目非常显眼的“离谱”极了。只谈一两个部门。。。

国家体育学院在没有获得财政部批准下，花了马币五百六十万买了23头马，以用了参加两项马术比赛。。。最终这些马儿只会吃草，不会跑，所以就没有参赛了。财政部报告说，它们（我不是指马，是指这些购买的人）知错而又认错，答应以后不会再犯，就这样没事没事了。。。

海洋公园局以马币RM 56,350.00购买市价约马币RM1,940。00的夜视海事双筒望远镜（差额2,805%）；马币RM 16,100.00 购买市价马币RM2,827.00的晶体电视机及DVD放映机（超额628%）；以马币RM11,845.00 来购买市价马币RM2,182.00 的一架手提电脑及一架打印机（超额266%）。

今天，反贪污委员会（反贪会）以出奇的高效率，最快时间宣布，根据它们的调查结果，该部门只是犯下未遵守财政部指示，没作市场价格调查，买到贵货而已，并不属于滥权贪污！没事，没事，不要小题大作！

打从2004年起，大家开始注意总稽查司的报告弊端，而要处罚那些歹徒，到2009年的报告，照样充满弊端，首相纳吉也扬言要抓拿元凶归案，但到今天为止，还没有一人被控上法庭，更没有一人需背负责任。。。。亿万元人民的钱，就这样的消逝无影无踪！

在『万事都能』，死人会投票，活人会失踪的国度里，时下最流行的一个名词是“转型”（贪腐莫熄 Transformation或者马来语Transformasi ）。这个国家的政府，这个国家的首相，不惜斥巨资，请来了外国形象公司，就是要来个改头换面，以一个新形象来赢取选票。

以派钱，给钱，分钱及花钱 ($)来转型的政府，终究也只是外型而已，却没有丝毫的“转心”！

这颗对廉耻已经死了的心，腐败及无耻已经锻炼成了铁石之心，已经没有礼仪廉耻的意识了。

但我们不要绝望！

在这『万事都能』的国度里，人民（有耻，无耻的）天天都在呼唤上主之名，上主之名天天都可以听到，也就等于说有希望了。。。。是的，我们应该全心归向上主，向他呼求。。。。“主，求你在人愚蠢的要求转型的时刻，求你给我们力量转心，一颗血肉之心，一个满注礼仪廉耻，正义之心。。。”

『我必要赐给他们另一颗心，在他们的脏腑放上一种精神，给他们换上一颗血肉之心，为使他们遵行我的法令，谨守我的法律，而一一实行；如此他们要作为我的百姓，我要作为他们的天主。。。』（则11：19-20）。

作为一名普罗大众的国民，买一公斤菜都想便宜一角钱；买一公斤红毛丹能够获得减价两角钱就雀跃的人；为公司采购物超额一百元，几乎给老板炒鱿鱼的员工，对亿万元的损失，当然心痛了。。。。。。。
