All Souls Day
Today, 2 November, the Catholic Church celebrates All Souls Day to commemorate all the faithful departed. (like Qing Ming festival in our Chinese custom)
The official name of the celebration in the Roman Rite liturgy of the Roman Catholic Church is "The Commemoration of All the Faithful Departed".
The All Souls Day is a day after All Saints Day. It constituted Catholic faith's "Communion of saints”, the communion of living and the dead.
While praying for the souls of the departed rest in peace, I am praying for myself too. In fact the living needed more prayers.
The departed have already completed their lives on earth while the living are still struggling .... for livelihood, for happiness, for family, for children, for health, for wealth, for avoiding sins....
Each day is a struggle for me. Sometimes I think the dead are better off than the living beings.
Death is hope .... death will set us free ... death will transform us....
Dear departed brothers and sisters, please pray for us the living ........
