NZ (7 ) 纽西兰
Already one week in New Zealand - the 7th day.
We said goodbye to our friendly and gracious hosts Jane and Dave and the comfortable log cabin (above) at about 10:00pm for Dunedin, a city in the East coast of South Island. It was a journey of about 220 km.
It was raining, windy and a little bit cold and gloomy. We past t
hrough many small towns, one of them is Gore, a beautiful and quiet town. We have coffee at one of the cafe to enjoy the fresh and cool air and quietness of the town. It was 5 degree C.
Arrived Dunedin at about 4:00pm. Dunedin is a coastal city famous for Penguin watching and Albatross conservation.
We drove along the Otago Peninsular, which was opposite the city of Dunedin for accommodation.
We found a nice B&B place and dropped in to inquire. This was the beginning of our good fortune.
Jenny and Bruce, the hosts, are friendly, the place are fantastic, cosy and comfortable. (two rooms + breakfast at NZ 200.00)
Their son-in-law Chris just caught a Trout this afternoon.... we requested them to cook for us dinner.... they happily obligated. Later we learned that Chris was formerly a pro-Chef in a restaurant, now he is doing freelance catering.
The dinner of roast Trout and BBQ Trout were fantastic.....and delicious!
This evening, we have the opportunity to see Albatrosses (flying in the sky), seals at the Fort Taiaroa (the tip of Otago Peninsular) and penguins coming home from hunting after dark.
