The actual preparation of the birth of Jesus by the Catholic Church started today only. Today we start our new liturgical year with the season of Advent which consists of 4 Sundays.
Advent, from the Latin adventus, means "coming" - the coming of Jesus. It is a period of expectant waiting and preparation for the celebration of the Nativity of Jesus， The Saviour, on December 25.

天主教会迎接圣诞节的到了，是从今天开始而已。今天，我们的教会开始了新的礼仪年，进入了四个星期天的【将临期】。
【将临期】的意思，顾名思义，就是以期望的心态，等待及准备救世者耶稣的到来，也就是十二月二十五日的圣诞了。
这是一个普世同庆的日子。圣诞带给世人希望，喜乐，平安及爱。
