At that time, Home Minister Syed Hamid also said that he hoped the investigation of Sodomy allegation involving Anwar could be completed as soon as possible.
At 5:45 pm today, while watching AlJazeela news, it was reported that Wan Azizah, wife of Anwar has resigned from her Permatang Pauh parliamentary seat to make way for her husband to contest the by-election.
This is really a surprise for many. A few days ago, Anwar has announced his intention to contest in the disputed Kulim seat. Why the hurry now?
Earlier today, Syed Hamid, the Internal Security Minister revealed that the Police has completed the investigation of Anwar's sodomy report and submitted to AG office. It is up to the AG Chambers now to determine if a criminal charge should be moved against the Anwar. Something is coming real soon?!?!?
Meanwhile, another drama being unveiled. Anti-Corruption Agency has stepped in to investigate RM100 millions supply contract fraud of police equipments. A newspapers report described this was "a case of greed, corruption and malpractice involving senior government servants and police officers."
Among the shocking finds:
> Bullet-proof vests not according to specifications.
> Anti-riot helmets not subjected to test.
> Boots supplied to traffic Police and UN duty officers were not nail proof.
> and many more sub-standard equipments I "malu" to mention !
Imagine the scenario: policeman died in a shootout because a bullet ripped through his bullet-proof vest; riot police "kepala pecah olih batu' (head broken by stone) by rioter's stones ! Not to mention Malaysia UN peace-keepers in Timor Leste sustained foot injuries by nails and debris while patrolling the rioting areas ! Adui, sakit dan malu nya ! ( Adui, pain and shame le !)
Malaysia Boleh !

Parish Priest of the Church of the Holy Family, Rev. Fr. William and Assistant PP, Rev. Fr. George Harrison welcomed them on their arrival at noon.
They have lunch at the nearby restaurant before resuming their journey.

Fr. Henriot served as the Parish Priest of our Parish (Church of the Holy Family, kajang) from 1977 to 1991. He is well loved by the people. Bro. Christopher Pelly(left of me) and Robert Tan(extreme right) were the former Chairperson of the Parish Council during Fr. Henriot tenure in Kajang. I succeeded Robert in the mid nineties and served under Fr. Leo Chang and Fr. Julian. Bro. Jude Benjamin (back middle) is the emerging leader of a younger generation of our Parish.
This is indeed a rare occasion to see three generations of leaders coming together with our former parish priest.

Breaking news A doctor who examined Saiful Bukhari Azlan four hours before he lodged a police report against Anwar found no evidence that he was sodomised.
Saiful went to Hospital Pusrawi (Pusat Rawatan Islam) in Jalan Tun Razak complaining of difficulty and pain in passing motion.
He was examined by Dr Mohamed Osman Abdul Hamid, the medical officer on duty.
The doctor said that the patient had alleged he was assaulted by the intrusion of a piece of "plastic" in the anus.
Dr. Mohamed Osman, according to his medical report, found "zero active bleeding", "zero ulcer or pus", "zero tear and scar" in Saiful's anus.He advised patient to go to a government hospital for second examination. He went to Hospital Kuala Lumpur and was examined by the doctor there. Later he lodged a police report of being sodomized at the Police post in the Hospital.
According to Malaysiakini, they have obtained a copy of the report from the Hospital Pursawa. It can be viewed on Internet. Dr. Mohamed Osman is currently on leave (or someone said on the run) and cannot be contacted.
Wow, plot within plot, very dramatic ! Which is true and which is false. Kepala pening sikit.
Meanwhile, Anwar Ibrahim has announced his intention to contest in the Kulim – Bandar Baru by-election if an imminent court decision next month declared the constituency vacant.
It is more than enough of rumble to last till September.
She is worried how well Elizabeth adjust herself to the weather in Scotland, especially during Winter months. Can she look after herself well and eat well ? can she take care of her laundries, room cleanliness ? She will be alone thousands miles away from home. She is still a little girl to the parents.
I thought I am able to cope with it better. Not so. I am not able to sleep well also. Three years is a long time. What will she be after 3 years? How is our relationship then? Will the three years overseas shapes her into a different person? What will I be then? a lot of questions and anxieties.
I pray hard that she will adapt well to the new environment and enjoy her study and stay in Scotland. May the three years campus life be a wonderful time for her to cherish.
Mother Mary, watch over her and be with her.
It is almost three in the morning and I am still awake.

With the change of new State Government, they received good news yesterday. The Mentri Besar of Selangor announced that the TNB would have to reroute the project. The 51 properties are saved.
The Pakatan Raayat Mentri Besar Khalid made a visit to the site and brought the good news to the villagers. He said:" ...can make money, can buy land, but do not disrupt the lives of citizens..."
This is the triumph of the people power ! This news was not reported in any main stream English newspapers.
As a kampong boy (born and bred in new village), I cheered for the news. As I have said to the Perak Government's move to grant permanent land title to the villages in Perak, same to the Selangor Government for the people-friendly policy, I am giving them five years mandate plus another five more years to come. It is worthy !
Home is a sacred place. Government should not rob people the ownership of a house at its wimp and fancy.

A quiet afternoon. No car passing. My dogs are lazily sleeping under the cars. No barking. No wind, leaves remain still. Birds chirping and singing. Merbok kuk kuk kuk..honey birds yap...ing... I could hear more than five types of birds singing. ooooi！ sparrows are missing.. are they taking an afternoon rest?
A feeling of peace and blissfulness oozing from within me. It is such a wonderful moment. My mind is blank, free from worries, issues, emotions... just appreciating and enjoying this blissful and still moment..
I feel joy and calmness... I have been empowered by this brief moment of peace and quiet...with admiration and respect of the Creator... it is a wonderful moment, a wonderful world. A feeling cannot be expressed by words.
It is just under two minutes, but this is the many wonderful moments of life which I cherish. It gives me strength and motivation to face the hustle and bustle of life.

Raja Petra Kamarudin (RPK), the controversial Internet News portal owner has just written in his column " No Holds Barred" on 23/7/2008 titled "an evening with an "accomplice" :
"........ This time I am going for broke. This time I am prepared to go to jail for a long, long time just to make sure that Najib is not going to become Prime Minister of Malaysia in June 2010. Yes, I know I am headed for a fall, but I am going to bring Najib down with me. We shall both hit the dirt and become history, side-by-side.
And how will that happen? Well, this time I video-recorded a ‘confession’ session. And the video recording is now in a safe place, ready to surface during my trial when they charge me for this newest ‘crime’, whatever that crime is going to be ..........."
Looks like our country is far from peace and quiet. God bless Malaysia for peace and unity !

The purchase of 14 Mercedes-Benzes Compressor E200, instead of local Proton Perdana, by the Terengganu State Government was strongly criticized by all quarters. The Prime Minister's appeal to people to be thrifty in this difficult time has fallen into deaf ear.
In his defence, the Chief Minister (Menteri Besar) of Terengganu said that Proton Perdana is simply lousy because of constant breakdown and high maintenance cost. It cost more than RM170,000.00 for repair and upkeep a Proton Perdana which currently costing around RM100,000.00. Another State Assembly who is enjoying the benefit of a new Mercedes Benz, also claimed that the Proton Perdana has no air bag thus not safe for long distance travel.
Good decision. They have saved hundreds of thousands of people's money. They also let people know that Proton Perdana is a lousy car, Mercedes Benz is very much better, indirectly telling us, please do not buy even if it is cheaper, very very much cheaper than foreign made cars.
I think any child in our country above the age of 6 will know the difference between Proton Perdana and Mercedes Benz. Instead of finding out why such high maintenance costs (all Malaysians already known the answer), he justified his decision by saying Mercedes Benz is a better choice. He has made a smart decision. He even revealed today that, although Proton Perdana V6 is the official car of all government officials, there are few Mercedes Benz cars parked at the house of the Deputy Prime Minister, Najib Abdul Razak.
Proton is our national car but a dinosaur with no new technology advancement. It is losing millions of Ringgit and needed government's support. Recently government has pumped in almost RM200 million "Research and Development" grant which appeared in Proton's financial report as "profit".
Buy Mercedes Benz or buy Proton Perdana, the money comes from the same pocket, our pocket. No difference. We the people are the looser.
Oh Oh ! I better go now to make my Income Tax monthly payment, otherwise I will be fined 10 % for late payment....! And I am as smart as the Terenggan Mentri Besar, not driving a Proton....but minus the money!
I met him fifteen years ago at the first Legion Fellowship in Bundu Tuhan Retreat Centre near Mt. Kinabalu. He is IT savvy and still surf internet on his free time.
Before we bid him goodbye, he gave a special blessing to Elizabeth for her soon overseas study trip to Scotland.

A close relative of mine Johor Baru was robbed of his car (a Mercedes Benz) by a group of carjackers in Johor. He was driving at night near his housing area when his car was knocked at the back by another car. He came down to investigate. A man also came out from the other car. He offered apology and followed my relative to inspect his car.
All of a sudden, he noticed his car was being driven away by another man. He was stunned. Then the other car just sped way with the guy who came out to inspect. My relative was lucky that no physical injury caused in this incident.
The boss of the petrol station which I used to frequent was robbed of cash by robbers came in a brand new Toyota Camry !
The Singer Shop at my housing estate was robbed when the boss opened the door for business in the morning!
These has been the common occurrences in our country. What is the government doing to arrest the situation ? So far we see nothing..... we are still unsafe... to walk, to drive, buying petrol, even at home too.

We met many other old friends in Kota Kinabalu. They warmly welcomed and entertained us throughout our stay. Rose and Ignatius brought us to a famous sea food restaurant for dinner. We were surprised to meet two youth from our Kajang Parish. They were holidaying with friends in KK also (below pic, left).
Raymond Yong helped us booked hotels and other travel arrangement. He brought us to a shop to taste the delicious Coconut Pudding. It was very nice.
I was lucky to leave for airport at 7:00 am on 14 July. I was not affected but some were not so lucky. They were caught in the jam for more than 2-3 hours. Many were late for work, missed appointments, missed examinations.......
The Police said it was for security- to prevent people from joining the purported illegal assembly at the Parliament. I said it was people-harassment. They just wanted to harass people so that the Oppositions would be blamed.
While they were happily harassing people in the name of prevention of illegal assembly, the snatch thieves, robbers were also happily going on with their usual business. People were suffering......Where were you when we needed you most ?

The arrests, debate and intrigue of the murder case sidelined the seriousness of corruption in our country. The arrest of the Director-General and Deputy Director-General was the most serious one but warranted the least attention. "The corruption in the department was so widespread...from top to the bottom.... that it threatened the national security" said the Director-general of the Anti-Corruption Agency (ACA) who ordered the arrest. If so, why they were not detained under ISA? They were released on bail later.
The No 1 and No 2 of a department were arrested for corruption(visas for money).... so you can imagine what type of department it is !! There is a illegal Immigrants Detention Camp in Broga where I passed by when I go to the FARM. My friend told me that if you need to see a detainee inside (Indonesian, Myameses, Blangadeshi, Vietnamese, Chinese...), you need to pay your way to the guard Manning the main gate right up to the guard inside the detention rooms.
Perhaps Malaysians were not surprise by the arrest because it was not a surprise..... corruption in government department existed like the fishes existed in the river. "Big position eats big, small position eats small " " you know lah....." this is the common perception. Malaysia Government and Malaysians feel no shame on it at all ..... as if it is all in a day's work.
Interestingly, the arrest of the top immigration officials was done after the Prime Minister Adullah Ahmad Badawi's announcement of his handing over of power to his deputy in 2010. He wanted to leave behind a legacy as a reformer. He praised ACA for a job well done without further comment. He was the former Internal Security Minister which the Immigration Department was under. He was the former boss of the Director-Generals ! It was just handed over recently to Syed Hamid.
In another interesting news report titled "cop vs cops", a policeman in Gemas, a small town in Negeri Sembilan, lodged a report against all his colleagues including his superiors allegedly over dissatisfaction on how the monthly bribes from those operating illegal activities was being distributed. This should have made it to the headlines, even CNN....
Former Inspector-general of Police, Tun Haniff Omar said two years ago that if ACA were to initiate an investigation on police personnel, no evidence needed, half of the police force would be hauled to court simply for living beyond their means.........ho ho ho!!
Prime Minister has chosen Hong Kong's ICAC as model to reform our ACA. A delegation of senior officials have gone to Hong Kong to learn from ICAC. Many of them are Police officers, IGP (Inspector General of Police) was one of them. Do you expect changes.......jiong lah (Chinese word and symbol 囧 ）

It was not the time to ask "why", and there would be no answer to it too. The most important thing was to accept and face the reality with courage and hope. This was exactly Jenny, her parents, members of family and friends did. They have set themselves free from denial and despair. They have hope and trust in faith. They lived one day at a time, one step a day. They walked patiently, they bore the pain courageously, and Jenny recovered slowly and surely.
As a parent, I empathized with the pain and agony her parents have gone through. At the initial stage, the parents were tirelessly be at her bedside, care for her day and night for more than two months. They offered love and care. They have many sleepless night and crying days, disappointment and despair, but they never give up on her. Jenny's recovery was the testimony of the unwavering love and care, courage and dedication. With these, I am confident Jenny will achieve a full physical and mental recovery.
Today, Jenny has resumed her study and is currently pursuing her Business Administration Course at the University Tun Abdul Razak (UNITAR), Sabah campus.
To Jenny, me and many others, we said: You are a brave girl. The accident has changed your life and shattered your dream but do not give up. Life continues to change and grow. You have shown your courage and determination, continue to fight on, to achieve your new dreams and new life.
We will always be with you and walk with you. We offer our sincere prayer, love and care to be with you always. We love you.

We mourned the passing of a courageous man. Anthony Albert Pichimuthu passed away yesterday morning of heart failure. He was 49.
He has been suffering from kidney failures and underwent regular dialysis for the past seventeen years. He looked frail but lived life with zeal. There was always a smile on his face. He was a M&E Engineer. He led a quite normal life despite his health condition. He served our church in the AV ministry and also a member of the Putrajaya Church Building Committee.
He left behind his wife Karen. They have been married for about ten years with no children. May his soul rest in peace through the mercy of God.
I have seen many friends benefited from drinking tea made from this leaves.

The Bishop of Kunming - We have the opportunity to meet the newly elected Bishop of Kunming，Bishop Ma Ying Lin. He has just returned from Beijing. He came to know that Fr. Leo Chang was backed to his home village and graciously invited all of us to have lunch with him. He was friendly and showed Fr. around the diocesan and his office. We were very much at ease.
