A fateful day of our country

A shamefully desperate situation.

2 days before the rally called by Bersih, the panicky Police force has taken matter into their own hands, not as protector of law but abuser of law.

They went berserk: issuing restriction order on 91 individuals including Bersih chairperson, opposition and political leaders. They are not allow to be present at certain places in Kuala Lumpur on July 9, otherwise they will be arrested.

Police has started locking down the city by setting up road blocks, harassing motorists in the name of maintaining security, causing massive traffic jams and gridlocks.

They even sent policemen camped at certain universities to prevent students from participating on the Bersih 2.0 rally.

So far, more than 200 Bersih supporters has been arrested throughout the country.

Prime Minister Najib has proposed to allow rally to be held in a stadium in which Bersih has agreed upon. At a last minute about turn, Police has informed Bersih that permit has been denied for Bersih rally to be held at a stadium. Strangely, Bersih denied no such application for permit.

Bersih has annouced that the rally would go on at 2:00 pm July 9 at the Merdeka Stadium, Kuala Lumpur.

Many undesirable elements are waiting for opportunity to create trouble and chaos on July 9 and blame them on Bersih. Somethings very sinister are unveiling........

At this critical and tension filled day dawning, Prime Minster Najib is leaving for UK on official engagement, thence to Vatican for a visit to Pope Benedict XVI, let us pray for our country, for leaders and the people, May God watch over us and bless us with a peaceful July 9, no riot, no bloodshed, no excessive police violence.

May justice and peace prevail. God bless Malaysia.

BN government’s constant projection of itself as a “Bersih, Cekap dan Amanah” (Clean, Efficient and Trustworthy) government, a slogan introduced and promoted by the former prime minister, Tun Dr Mahathir Mohammed, when he became the Prime Minister of Malaysia back in 1981.
