Opening Ceremony (4-6-09）
The Jian Tan Center saw hive of activities at around 4:00pm. Local legionaries from various parts of Taiwan were the last batches of participants to be registered. According to the final tally revealed by the organiser, there were 413 participants from 35 units/areas taking part in this year's fellowship. The new comers were 17 legionaries from Huston, Texas, St. Jose and Southern California.
At 5：30 pm sharp, Taiwan Senatus President Chang Mei Ying led the opening prayer and Rosary. It was indeed grateful for our Mother's intercession and protection that, despite the threat of A (H1N1) worldwide, the fellowship was not affected.
The Fellowship was officially opened by Right Rev. Bishop Lee of Taipei diocese in a simple ceremony, followed by a Thanksgiving Mass con-celebrated by Bishop Wang from St. Jose and 12 other priests.
A buffet dinner and presentations by Taiwanese legionaries followed.

傍晚四点左右，剑潭活动中心的经国礼堂，开始热闹了起来。台湾本土的军友是最后一批报到的参加者。根据主办当局的最后数字，总共有来自35个地区/单位，413名军友出席这届的交流会。今年新来的是美国休斯顿，加州圣河西及南加州三个单位的17位军友参加。
在五点三十分正，台湾分团团长张美芳姐妹带领诵念开会经及玫瑰经。是的，我们应该感谢圣母的爱护，祈求耶稣的恩赐，在 A (H1N1) 的阴影下，第十七届华文圣母军交流会，能够顺利的召开。
开幕礼的感恩弥撒由台北李克勉主教及圣河西的汪中璋主教主祭 ，12位神父共祭。弥撒过后就是晚餐及迎宾表演。

今天一早就打开电脑，第一当然是先造访西满兄的部落格，看看有什么新的讯息，果然没有令我失望。
回想第一次交流会在台湾举行时，碰上了 Sars, 结果交流会被迫展期到次年。当时我交了报名费，也订了机票，结果在较后到台湾旅游一番。
今年又碰上了 H1N1, 真的使关心和已报名参加交流会的军友们捏一把冷汗。幸有前车之鉴，各国都做了严谨的措施，不至疫情失控，再加上圣母的护佑，这次交流会得以顺利举行。真是感谢主。
413名军参加（还有美国的）和12位神父共祭开幕弥撒，多么壮观的场面。真如你说的羡慕死那些没有或无法参加的人了。
