Gone with the smoke

THE STORY OF BURNING LEAVES.

Long before the fabric of racial harmony in our country was torn by politicians ....

Long before the fabric of religious harmony in our country was torn by politicians and holy than thou righteous religion practitioners .....

Long before the haze caused by burning in big plantation in preparation for replanting....

Long before the advent of 1 Malaysia, a phrase coined by the very politicians responsible for tearing our fabric of harmony ...

It was then a harmonious Malaysia, with clear sky and fresh air.

Races living harmoniously and peacefully side by side, kampongs by new villages ...Chinese enjoying kuih muih made by Malays from next door kampong, Malays enjoying Hai Nam coffee at coffee shop in the new village next to their kampong.....

The smoke of evening burning of coconut leaves was a nostalgic memory, rendered no pollution.

Today, the air is dirty and hazy, rivers polluted .... race division, discrimination, injustices, corruption filled the land. The politicians are trying hysterically to tell us - we are One Malaysia.

Why am I having guilty feelings while burning leaves at my back yard ??!!

The nostalgic kampong/new village feeling has gone with the smoke.

My backyard mini haven with 3 coconut trees -- a place to de-stress, relax and reminiscing the old kampong feelings.
