Eating in Ipoh 吃在怡保


Today is the last day of our northern trip.

After breakfast, we visited Shangrila's Rasa Sayang Resort & Spa at Batu Ferringi before leaving Penang for Ipoh.

Arriving at Peter Cho's house in Ipoh at noon. As always, Peter has Ipoh famous pomelo kept cold in the fridge ready for us. With temperature at 35 degree C, believe me, the pomelo is better than the forbidden fruit in the Eden!

We have Ipoh famous nga choi chicken for lunch and later toufu fa as dessert.

Salted chicken is another famous delicacy of Ipoh. We sent Amanda, the gui lou, to place an order of 4 chicken across the road by signalling to the staff of the shop. The super efficient staff sent over within minutes .... She enjoyed the process and the chicken as well ... it is fun!!

Thanks to Peter and Ann for their hospitality (as always).. and bid them goodbye at about 3:00 pm for home.

The eating and sight-seeing road trip ended successfully at Kajang with Amanda taking up the challenge of eating durian ... and she loved it !

This is Amanda's first trip to Asia. She comes with an open mind and adventurous spirit, she experienced the local culture and traditions, dare to try and enjoy all types of local food. She likes it ! (She knows the meaning of gui lou and accepted it good heartedly)

She will be going with my daughters to East Coast for an island holidays.

今天是我们北方行动最后一天。

早上,我们到槟城海边的香格里拉酒店参观,然后离开槟城,南下到怡保。

中午时间到了朱兴文的家。招呼周到的兴文,立刻从冰箱里拿出冷藏的怡保柚子。在这炎热的天气里,吃在口里,甜到心里,告诉你,这柚子比伊甸园的禁果还要好吃!

过后,我们到市中心吃闻名的怡保芽菜鸡,然后豆腐花及豆浆为饭后甜品。

之前尝过了怡保的盐焗鸡,所以要买些带回家。我们就请鬼佬阿曼达站在店的对面下定,不到一分钟,高效率的员工就把四只盐焗鸡送了过来。阿曼达非常享受我们这种道地的下定方式,也非常喜爱这盐焗鸡。

我们很感谢兴文夫妇热情的招待,在下午三点左右,向他们道别,取道回家。

这趟吃喝游,在加影以阿曼达尝试榴莲作为结束。我们有点惊讶,她还喜欢榴莲呢!

阿曼达这位鬼佬(鬼妹),第一次到来亚洲旅游,怀着开发及勇敢尝试的精神,她见到了这里的风土人情,各种美味食物,高兴极了。(她知道鬼佬的意思,也还挺喜欢的。)

她将会在后天,连同我的女儿,到东海岸的度假小岛继续她的旅游。
