A blessed beginning

The first thing on the first day of the Chinese New Year is to attend the New Year Thanksgiving Mass. We attended the 8:00 am Mass at the Sacred Heart Cathedral, Johor Baru. The Mass was celebrated by Bishop Emeritus James Chen and con-celebrated by the Parish Priest, Rev. Fr. Peter Ng and three other priests.

Fr. Lawrence who is studying Mandarin in Taiwan delivered a lively sermon. After Mass, a lion dance presentation was done by parish's own youth group. Before going home, each parishioner received an Ang Pow and Mandarin oranges.

A blessed beginning to the blessed Year of Ox.
