Recently Anwar Ibrahim has started a new set of Crossing Over games in Perak. So far he has scored one point over BN by successfully persuaded Bota State Assemblyman Nasarudin Hashim to defect to his party(PKR).
Another drama unfolded. 2 PKR State Assemblymen were reported missing for more than four days. The duo were charged in August last year for accepting bribes over the approval of an RM180 million housing project. They were suspected to have defected to Barisan Nasional (BN). Their defection may bring down the current Pakatan state government.
This evening, the event took a dramatic turn. Perak State Assembly Speaker announced that he has received faxed letter of resignation from the two assemblymen. Thus he declared the two state constituencies held by the duo vacant, Election Commission would be notified and by-election will be conducted within 60 days. However, one of them disputed the letter is from him. The legitimacy of the letters is subjected to dispute but It is a pre-empt strike by PKR.
Adding excitement to the dramatic situation, Deputy Assembly Speaker Hee Yit Fong of DAP is missing and cannot be contacted. She may have defected. And again in the late evening, she has been found and she has not defected.
Meanwhile, rumours rife that number of BN assemblymen are in talks with PKR to defect.
This is the beginning of a Beginning. The drama is unfolding...
