Our Malay neighbour opposite our house invited us to their Hari Raya open house this afternoon. His name is Alwi, same name as my immediate neighbour.
Muslims celebrate Hari Raya for 30 days. After a month long fasting, they deserved a month long celebrations too.
Alwi is 45 years old with four children. He moved in about a year ago after a massive renovation which saw his double storey bungalow house doubled its size.
我家对面的马来邻居，邀请了我们到他家参加开斋节开放午餐。他名叫艾威，和我的右邻同名。
回教徒的开斋节庆祝，可持续三十天。经过了一个月的斋戒后，欢庆一个月是应该的。
艾威今年四十五岁，有四个孩子。他在约一年前，大事装修现有的双层独立洋房后，面积增加了一倍，才搬了进来。
