Mr. & Mrs Eilers
1/7/2012
We came to Bonn with the main purpose of meeting old acquaintances, sight-seeing is important but not the priority.
Today we achieved both.
Mr. Eilers (see German visitor), Pauline's former boss, was in Malaysia in December 2011 and paid us a visit then. We mentioned to him about our intending visit to Germany in June and he invited to visit him if and when in Bonn.
This morning at about 11:00 am, we made a brief visit to him and his wife at his house which is near Mr. Heidenriech's house.
We were so happy to meet again and extended our greetings to his wife personally.
In the afternoon, Mr. Heidenriech and wife Irene brought us for a sightseeing trip around his neighbourhood, Rhine river promenade and town square.
Mr. Heidenriech's house is situated about 100 meters from River Rhine.
We visited the prestigious historical Petersberg Hotel which is built on top of a plateau and have a panorama view of Bonn. It is now a hotel for the rich and famous.

It was a fun and laughter filled 3 days in Bonn.
Mr. Heidenreich and wife Irene were not a day older than they were in our memory. Both are funny and humourous, full of energy. I enjoyed their company and hospitality.
It was the first time I was so closely interacted with them, practically under one roof … staying with them for 3 days 2 nights. I felt comfortable and relaxed.
Besides reminiscing on the old good time of their tenure in Kuala Lumpur, we talked on any-and-every other things on earth … and laughed and laughed and laughed!
Big thanks and appreciation to their generosity and hospitality, and a memory we will cherish for life.
Bye bye Captain F. Heidereich and Lady Irene ….
We boarded the train with a heavy heart and a love-bag full of sandwich, cake, fruits and water specially prepared by Mama Irene for our train journey back to Berlin!
After 4.5 hours of train ride, we were safely in the hand of Dorit and Gerd and their home in Kleimachnow, near Berlin.
A BBQ German sausages dinner was awaiting us! (see pictures at bottom)
Bonn's Cathedral
