Uncle Sam 山姆叔叔

I attended the funeral Mass of Samson Sew (57) at the Church of Divine Mercy in Shah Alam at 11:00 am today.

I met Samson, a communion minister, last year going with him to give communion to a sick East Malaysian. He was healthy and jovial then.

Sadly, he died of cancer 3 days ago leaving behind his wife Anne and two sons, Michael and Kenneth, daughter in law and two grandchildren.

Fr. Paulino, the Parish Priest gave a moving homily paying tribute to Samson who served the parish with dedication and passion. He was fondly called by parishioners as Uncle Sam.

Michael, the eldest son, shared some touching moments of his life with his father. He also expressed his love for him and his admiration and respect for the good works his father, a perfectionist and passion worker, has done for the parish and the community especially the Chinese Speaking community.

"Sam Sew, we love you. We commend your spirit to God.... Jesus, Jesus, Jesus (sung)...."- Fr. Paulino.
今天早晨十一点，我到沙亚南耶稣慈悲堂参加伟强的爸爸萧烈子兄弟（57岁）的殡葬弥撒。

我在去年遇见烈子兄弟，当时陪同他到他家附近给一位东马教友送圣体。那是他精神爽朗，看起来很健康。

很伤痛的，他在三天前，因癌症而与世长辞。

该堂的本堂保利諾Paulino神父，在证道时，对这位教友热情称呼的“山姆叔叔”在堂区的服务及共献，给予肯定及赞赏。他是一位愿意付出的领袖。

伟强在悼赞词时，分享了与爸爸一些共处的感人时刻。他表达了对这位严肃但极力维护和谐的爸爸的敬爱，及对他为教会及团体的服务和贡献，感到骄傲，所以他希望该堂的团体，继续的为他爸爸的梦想实现，作出努力。
