Back for holidays 假期

wake keep & prayer vigil 坐夜、祈祷
Parishioners from parishes in Klang Valley came for prayer vigil and wake keeping, paying last respect to Fr. Anthony Chan at the Holy Redeemer Hall.

Fr Chan died 神父逝世
Fr. Anthony Chan passed away this morning at about 9:20 am.
For the past two weeks, he has been sleeping most of the time. He complained no pain. After 7/7/09 his 53rd Ordination anniversary, he pulled out his feeding tube.
Mrs Lee who was looking after him knew that his time has come. He did not take any food anymore, sleeping peacefully most of the time - it is God's (nature's) way preparing him for his transformation and the new journey.
His body will be brought to Holy Redeemer Church in Berkeley Garden, Klang. Funeral Mass is at 11:00 am Tuesday.
May his soul rest in peace of the Lord.
陈安当神父今早约九时二十分，蒙主恩召。
在过去的两周里，陈神父大多数的时间都安睡在床上休息。但在7、7、09 ，他的晋铎五十三周年过后，他自己就把插在鼻子的食管拔出。
照顾她的李太太知道陈神父的时间到了。神父安祥的躺睡着，不再进食。这是天主（自然）准备他的锐变及开始一个新旅程的特有方法。
他的遗体将停放在百家利花园的耶稣救主堂，安所弥撒则在星期二早上十一时举行。
愿他的灵魂安息主怀。

Thieves and robbers 贼及强盗
Another village would be gone.... soon. It is the hot news.
The villagers of the 150 years old Kampong Buah Pala of Penang had been ordered to move out by August 2009. The village was established during Strait Settlement times.
Another case of government / government officials turned robbers, robbing the basic rights and properties of the people they are supposed to protect and taking care of.
The Penang State government of Barisan Nation under the leadership of Kor Tsu Koon, in 2005, sold this 2.5 hecters settlement land to a Koperasi Pegawai Kerajaan Pulau Pinang – a Koperasi very closely linked to the UMNO bigwigs of the day for a paltry sum of a little over 3 million.
See! the koperasi Pegawai Kerajaan - senior government servants cooperative.... why they want to rob these villagers of their land and houses instead of allowing them to own the land to have peaceful lives and comfortable homes of generations! There are plenty of vacant lands else where!
They could be the government officials of the day... which means they are selling the land to themselves!
Thieves, robbers, immoral swindlers!
This incident also exposed the in-experience of the present Penang Pakatan state goverment, especially the Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng.

又一个新村即将消失。这是现今的热门新闻。
已有一百五十年的槟城豆蔻新村（kampong Buah Bala)的村民，已经被通知必须在今年的八月搬迁。这个新村是在英国海峡殖民地时代建立的。
又是另一宗政府、政府官员变成强盗及贼，掠夺人民的权利及财产。但他们本来的义务就是要保护及照顾这些人民的利益。
槟城政府当时在许子根当首席部长的时候，于2005年，把这新村着落的2.5公顷的土地，以低贱的三百万元，卖给与巫统有密切关系的高级公务员合作社。
看得到吗？可能当时在位的高级政府官员，把这土地便宜的卖给自己（合作社）！为什么这些混蛋要摧毁人民的美好家园及安乐的生活呢？他们在这土地上世代的住在这里，本来就应该送给他们。其他地方还有很多土地。
强盗 、贼 、丧失天良的缺德骗徒。
从这事件中，可以看到现任的民联州政府，特别是首席部长林冠英，缺乏经验及政治智慧来解决这个从前朝留下来的问题。

Big ego
Big ego, low esteem!
This is what I utter when I encounter driver in such situation as the picture.
The vehicle in front of me in the picture is a Toyota Hilux light truck ( like the Mitsubishi Storm, Ford Ranger..).The driver must be thinking he is driving a King of the Road ...blocking others, inconsiderate, selfish and bully just because he is driving a light truck! No one can touch me that kind of attitude.
I have many encounters with such drivers of this type of vehicles. As the Chinese saying goes: "The dog is acting up because of its owner ", so the driver is acting up because of his vehicle.
My friends, if you own one of these vehicles, please don't act up! The driver behind you may "curse": big ego, low esteem fellow! (狗仗人势；人仗车势）.
Hopefully you are not the one who needs a "big" vehicle to boast you ego!

RCIA 成人慕道
The 17th Chinese-speaking RCIA (2009-2010 session) commenced this evening at 8:00 pm.
I have been involved with Chinese Speaking RCIA since its inauguration in 1992. With many changes in parish structure and people, including the parish priests, I found myself unable to cope up with the vigourous demands of the present situation.
More meetings, more formation, more guidelines. I am feeling tired already. No more joy in what I am doing. May be an old horse cannot be flogged, and is better for me to gallop (while still can) towards the beautiful sunset....
But many were disappointed with the priest who failed to turn up for the ceremony.

堂区第十七届成人慕道班，在今晚八时开课了。
我参于成人慕道班的工作，打从1992年第一届开始。随着堂区架构，人事的变动，包括神父，我觉得自己赶不上潮流了。
增加了更多的会议，培训，规律。我觉得好疲累了，也已经失去了以前的那种喜乐。可能我已经是一匹老马，不能被鞭策了。或许我应该乘着现在还能够奔驰，该向着那美丽的夕阳乘风而去吧。。。
今晚的出席人数相当的踊跃，特别是慕道班工作成员。很多的歌唱及分享，就这样度过了开班的第一天。
但也有很多对神父的缺席开幕礼，而感到失望。

Back from holiday 度假回来
I was very busy over the weekend.
Cleaning and washing, tidying up the house... The Boss is coming back!
After almost 3 weeks of coooooollling Alaskan cruise holidays, Pauline is backed yesterday evening.
She found the house is all in order.
上个周末我是非常的忙。
打扫 、清洗 、收拾整间屋子，因为老板要回来了！
太太参加了整三个星期的阿拉斯加游船假期后，昨天傍晚回到家了。
她可以见到，家里一切还好。

2 microphones 两支麦克风
When God wanted to destroy Nineveh because of their wickedness, he sent Jonah to warn them.
The King of Nineveh heard the words， immediately put on sackcloth, sat down in ashes, and ordered all his men and beasts, herds and flocks in the land to taste nothing, must not eat, must not drink water, put on sackcloth and call on God with all their might; and let every one renounce his evil behaviour and the wicked things he has done...
God saw their efforts and relented. He did not inflict on them the disaster which he had threatened.
When 2 expensive microphones were missing from the Choir section, the Parish Priest of our church ordered the choir to stop singing and no music at all Masses for the whole month of July. All parishioners, especially the choir and AV members, were told to reflect on it and .......
This evening was the first Mass without choir and music. Singing was led by the commentator whose voice was ...kind of sorrowful... and slow.
God saw... but no response! May be this is the 1st week only! （God gave 40 days to Niveveh to repent)
当天主看到了尼尼微人的邪恶，要摧毁这个城市时，他派遣约纳去警告他们。
尼尼微的国王听到了这个警告之后，他马上披上麻衣，坐在灰土中，并下令全国的人 、牲畜 、牛和羊都不可以吃什么；不可放牧，不可喝水，应披上麻衣，要恳切的呼求天主，更要转离自己的邪路，放弃各种暴行。。。
上主看到了他们的决心，远离邪恶及悔改，怜悯他们，就不把要施放的灾害降下。
当我们教堂合唱团里的两支贵重的麦克风不见了，堂区神父宣布在整个七月份里，合唱团停止领唱，也禁止音乐。教友们，特别是歌咏团及视听组成员，应该利用这个时期，好好的去反省。。。。
今晚的弥撒，是第一台没有合唱团及音乐的弥撒。歌唱则由带经员带领。她的歌声有点忧伤。。。而且唱的慢拍。。。
天主应该是看到了，但没有反应，可能这是第一周吧。。。(天主给尼尼微人四十天时间）

Haircut 理发
Went for my hair cut this morning at Mary's saloon.
I have no particular style for my hair... up to Mary's creativity. If she is focused, the haircut would be "smooth" and "nice". If she has customers to talk to, she would do any style as her hands and mouth dictate.
At times, a small "fairer" patch would appear on my head. Sometimes her shaver would cut my skin, bloody; sometimes, my sideburns disappear ... cleanly shaved.
Today Mary was taking to her customer next to me. The topics were Michael Jackson's death, his properties.... plastic surgeries.... his dances; then changed to pressure of stardom.... then changed to her customer's daughter participation in a beauty pageant... offer from certain "datuk" to get her top position ... Quite interesting!
I heaved a sign of relief after she has done with me in fifteen minutes. My hair seemed to be OK (right).
She has raised the price from RM9 to RM10.00.

我没有任何特别的发型需要，任玛莉随意就行。假如她专注，理出来的发型就会很“顺”及满意。假如她有和顾客谈话，那就要靠她的双手及嘴巴去协调了。
有时我都头发会比较”百“的一小块；有事玛莉的剃刀会把我的皮肤刮伤，血流出来；有时不经意间，我的两边鬓毛会给她”铲平“， 变得两耳光光！
今天玛莉和我隔壁的顾客谈的话题是麦克积逊的死，他的家产，他的整容；过后话题转到作为一个巨星的压力，再转到她的朋友女儿，参加选美，然后有“拿督”开出条件，可以给她的女儿中选前数名。。。等等。。相当有趣！
过了十五分钟，发也理好了，我也松了一口气。看来剪刀还不错（如上图）。
她收费十元，起了一元（前为九元）。
